Her views are not only out of the mainstream, she uses outright lies to try to make her points, making her less credible each time she opens her mouth. She is an empty suit that won in an extremely liberal district by outworking her opponent and hitting the leftist hot button issues in her district. There is a less than 1% chance that she becomes anything on the national stage other than the novelty she is. The Democrats are seriously overreaching if they believe otherwise.

I don't know that her views are out of the democrat mainstream any more. I'd give serious consideration to a candidate who was like presidents Jack Kennedy or Bill Clinton, but I just don't see any more of them. Look at the leading democrats receiving mention for 2020--Sanders, Warren, Harris, Booker, O'Rourke. Which one is closer to Presidents Kennedy or Clinton than to Ocasio-Cortez? I don't see one. Heck, as nearly as I can tell, even Bill Clinton today is closer to Ocasio-Cortez than to President Bill.

I see this dynamic in action. I have a friend who is a firearms instructor in whose classes I help out occasionally. Many of those in attendance have been victims of crime and on several occasions when discussing why they wish to learn to defend themselves it comes out in the conversation that "yes, I was a liberal democrat who opposed guns but after that so and so beat me and robbed me at gunpoint I decided to assume responsibility for my own safety and that of my family".

Look, I don't care if she is young, old, Democrat, or Republican. There should be derision across party lines regarding her. She's an idiot that is pushing a Socialist agenda which is against everything this country was founded upon or has ever been. Basically I think that anyone that supports her is either an idiot like her, or doesn't like the basic ideals that America has always stood for and wants to rewrite the Constitution accordingly. There is a lot of stupid out there and we are witnessing more and more of it as the days go by.

That's where the stupid that I was referring to in my comments comes into play. I've often thought that there should be some (minimum) sort of competency test that people should have to pass before they are allowed to vote, otherwise you have individuals just voting for people and they don't even know what that person is for. There are likely millions of voting age people in this country that couldn't even provide a respectable definition of what Socialism is, but their vote counts as much as yours does when they go to the polls. It's crazy.
