For anyone not familiar, Questbridge is a consortium of many of the best private colleges and universities across the US with need-blind admissions and 100% need-based financial aid. They offer an application process similar to the Common App that highlights low-income applicants. Questbridge applicants can apply early decision to multiple schools (Up to 12; the student ranks the schools by preference, and, if accepted by multiple schools, Questbridge filters out all but the highest ranked acceptance). I didn't get in ED, but they also let you submit your application regular decision (and to different or additional schools). The Quest app has a little more content than the Common App, so there's more opportunity to present yourself.
On top of streamlining the application, it's also very easy to get fee waivers. It gets a lot easier to pull the trigger on Stanford, Harvard, Rice, CalTech, Northwestern, Emory, and a half dozen others all at once when the only marginal cost is writing more school-specific essays.
