I attended UC from 1965 to 1970. For years I walked through mud next to signs saying they were building a better university for me. LOL - it did not happen for me.

I will say the Engineering Quadrangle was a thing of beauty even then.

18 years later, it didn't happen for me either :)

1961 - 1965 it was just before building started but it was all I could afford and it got me what I needed to become a 1%'er.

I always say the place was something of a dump when I attended (1984-1989). I had a nice UC Under Construction sign that I stole off campus walking home from the bars on Calhoun one night.

UC didn't make me a 1%'er (unless you count worldwide, then many of us probably are), but there is nothing wrong with being a 5%'er.
