Photos that came out recently (I cannot remember where) showed that Johnson did not drop this pass. It was a great defensive play instead.
If I recall it was the freahman Walker grabbed a wrist at the last moment. But I'd have to rewatch to confirm. What experience he just gained!

Sure looked like Johnson dropped in slomo. Does anyone have the photo? McKie made some plays as well and hopefully both become All-MAC performers...

Embry made an incredible play. There is a viedo with an isolated endzone angle. Beleive it was produced by the MAC.

That video is on the NIU twitter feed. Without a doubt Embry got his arm in there. Great play.

Yeah and if Corcoran hadn’t been called for BS targeting and had to sit out the first half, they would’ve had to deal with the pass rush all game and we may well have blown out Buffalo instead of needing a miracle comeback.

Your TV finally listened! It's awesome when it finally does. "See honey?! Don't tell me yelling at the TV is a bad thing! It listened to me for once! Which, by the way... hint hint..."

That will be huge and I really hope that happens. With NIU's D, anything can happen even against an opponent who's generally a leg up or even two above them overall. That said, with NIU's O, a team who's generally a leg below them -- same thing.
Before the WMU game, it seemed NIU's O was getting some wheels churning. Which is why I feared that NIU game -- but WMU fired the D Coordinator after the previous game and it worked like a charm with the replacement having a PJ-like mentality to get those wheels churning. NIU's 2nd half against Buffalo showed their O *can* churn, and if so, they're a tough team to beat by almost anyone out there.
If NIU gets their O churning during a good part of the game, they'll win. Rod Carey's due for a solid bowl win. And everyone in the MAC wants NIU to follow-thru on it, since it's MAC vs CUSA!

I was at the game, so my TV caught a break. Pretty sure UAB has a better defense than Buffalo so hopefully the offense will still be able to put points up. The O-line will need to have a really good game. And if Tears can play like he did against Buffalo that will be a big help.
