NRCC Hacked
Quote:The House GOP campaign arm suffered a major hack during the 2018 election, exposing thousands of sensitive emails to an outside intruder, according to three senior party officials.

The email accounts of four senior aides at the National Republican Congressional Committee were surveilled for several months, the party officials said. The intrusion was detected in April by an NRCC vendor, who alerted the committee and its cybersecurity contractor. An internal investigation was initiated and the FBI was alerted to the attack, said the officials, who requested anonymity to discuss the incident.

Quote:None of the information accessed during the hack — thousands of emails from senior NRCC aides — has appeared in public, party officials said. And they said there were no attempts to threaten the NRCC or its leadership during the campaign with exposure of the information.

Yet the fact that the NRCC was hacked and withheld that information is likely to prove embarrassing at a time when Republicans are grappling with an election in which they lost 40 seats and control of the House. President Donald Trump has also claimed that Republicans are better than Democrats at cybersecurity, explaining why one party was hacked in 2016 but the other was not.

Only one party was hacked in 2016 and it wasn't the Republican Party.

Might have been to their benefit to claim the Democrats did it.

And maybe they did and knew where the Republicans were going to spend their money and where they had written elections off.

RE: NRCC Hacked
Or maybe it was the Russians trying to rig the House elections for the Democrats to create more conflict.

It was the Russians, we must move quickly to appoint a special counsel to investigate collusion between Russia and Pelosi and Schumer. 05-stirthepot

Uhhhhh, what's okay? I don't think it's ok for anyone that's doing the hacking.

But, that really wasn't the issue, was it? It was the rank corruption and election fixing the dims were pulling off, primarily at the expense of the bern.

People saw this clear as day and it only confirmed just how crooked, Crooked Hillary actually is.

When does Mueller and his merry band chase down the ROOOSKIES!!! responsible for this hack?

I won't hold my breath. 07-coffee3

Think Dem leaning tech company or a tech security system. They don't need to hack the old fashioned way because they can do it as an update, or go straight to the hard drive with a security update and glean what they wish.

A government intelligence agency could do the same. They didn't want the hack exposed, they just wanted access to the information for their own purposes. There's nothing to hold hostage, no need for leaks to embarrass anyone because that then becomes the smoking gun to give them away.

They simply wanted to get in and then out with information they could use surreptitiously for their own purposes.

So IMO the culprit list here is more domestic than foreign, and the two groups capable of making this happen would be Tech companies including Tech security systems of which several work closely with the FBI, HSA, CIA, etc.
