B.J. Stith, Old Dominion

Stith carefully guided Old Dominion to a pair of wins over in-state rivals VCU and James Madison. The regional product enjoyed a 24.5 points, 6.5 rebounds, 1.5 steals, 0.5 assists and 0.5 blocks stat line across the two victories. Against JMU, the redshirt senior went for 28 points, 8 rebounds, 1 assist and 1 steal. Against VCU, he finished with 21 points, 5 rebounds, 2 steals, 1 assist and 1 block. For the week, he shot 48.6 percent from the floor, 58.3 percent from range and 88.9 percent from the charity stripe. It is the first C-USA weekly award in Stith’s decorated career.
Freshman of the Week
Jordan Lathon, UTEP
Freshman, 6-4, 190, G, Grandview, Mo.
Lathon posted an all-around effort during UTEP’s two games. The frosh averaged 12.0 points and 5.0 rebounds while filling the sheet out with five steals, two blocks and four assists. In limited action (25 minutes) against New Mexico State, Lathon tallied eight points, an assist, a block and led the Miners with three steals. Against Northwestern State, Lathon broke out for a career-high 16 points on five field goals, including a pair of treys in 31 minutes of action. The Grandview, Missouri, product added nine rebounds along with three assists, two steals and a blocked shot. It is the first C-USA weekly award of Lathon’s career.
