I realize it means nothing more than that but I was actually suprised they had us that high.

If we get in we will be a 13 seed most likely. But who cares lets just end the drought.

Strength of schedule. You also cannot judge on 1 game and they had to play us on the road.

VCU's NET is 48, ODU's is 82. VCU has better wins (Texas 38, Temple 50, Hofstra 53, Dayton 100, Bowling Green of all teams at 111) than ODU (VCU 48, Syracuse 49, North Texas 92), and five of the Monarchs' six losses (Northern Iowa 202, St. Joseph's 183, Florida Atlantic 160, Marshall 153, UTSA 140) are worse than VCU's worst (Rhode Island 120).

Not sure how much impact those numbers will have on seeding (I tend to think people overvalue metrics like NET and before that the RPI) but they'll at least be considered.

Syracuse is a 9 seed, we should be rated higher than them too?

Duke is a 1 seed, but Syracuse beat them, shouldn't Syracuse be a 1 seed then?

There's a LOT more at play than just head-to-head.

If we take care of business, I don't see us getting worse than a 13.

As of today we have a 37% of making the NCAA tournament as a 13 seed.

Why ? They are the top team in the A10. They have an NET of 40ish. They beat some good teams.

VCUs NET ranking is being floated by mid majors that are having good years, Bowling Green, Temple and Hofstra. And they teams they lost to are having good years. We are having the exact opposite effect from W&M, UNI, JMU and Richmond. We have to get W&M, JMU, Fairfield and Morgan St off the schedule. Home and homes with top teams from Mid Majors should not be hard to achieve and it helps both. Stop playing bottom feeders
