Great crowd, great atmosphere by your fans, wasn't a fan of the booing of inured players but whatever every fan base has stupid people in it.
Saturday was a big time reminder of life in the G5. Conference championship game on the road, too small for neutral. The league needed UCF to win, period, hell even Memphis makes more money by losing, some blatantly obvious flags and flag pick ups. And then the reminder yesterday that no matter if you have a team win every game for two seasons they can't even sniff getting a shot to win it all, nice pat on the back from all the talking heads but that's it.
Oh well, all we can do is enjoy the games we play in, hats off to UCF for second half adjustments and putting yourselves in position to be the team that everyone needed to win. 52-3 in two second halves this year is pretty impressive!!! Maybe we can go find us a Randy Shannon somewhere, Chris ball has got to go.
I swear to God, I'd love to read a Memphis fan post that doesn't contain crying and conspiracy about "refs wanting UCF to win".
Did the refs want UCF to win when they refused to call the 200 holds that the Memphis OLine committed the ENTIRE game? There are still shots on 2 TDs where a Memphis lineman quite literally has a UCF defender in a chokehold or in the process of being tackled.
Money is real, have you ever seen 3 or 4 flags thrown and picked with no explanation? I said congrats and you guys made all the adjustments both games this year to erase big first halves by us, you are better than us but Saturday was a different deal altogether. This league has spent a ton on being better than the rest of the G5 with the P6 stuff, no one needed Memphis winning that game and ruining everything. No way this league can stand by and let $15-20M just go away, hell maybe even some people on our side happy things turned, we all struggle for every dollar we can get.
15-20M? lmao what are you talking about? More tin foil hat stuff from memphis fans

That’s just a handful of fans. The rest of us acknowledge the better team one, salute you, on to the next one.
I was on the home side and it certainly didn't feel like a handful of fans. There was a LOT of booing when Memphis players went down. I tried expressing my disconent with UCF fans doing this on twitter but most seemed to disagree; thinking Memphis was faking injuries to slow down our offense.
Maybe they were maybe they weren't, but its still classless to boo potentially injured student athletes. UCF fans probably need some time to mature a little bit... Sorry to those Memphis fans that were there to hear that.
The Memphis injuries appeared mostly legitimate. UCF has been in many games faking injuries is normal, so the booing is related to that.
The idea that the refs gave us the game is laughable though. I think it was around the 5:00 Mark of the 1st quarter a clear personal foul should have been called. Directly in front of the ref. Nothing was called.

Isn't like $4-6 million with probably $2 million covering expenses. Per team almost nothing of value.

I prefer the arrangement where the best team earns home field right. It is a reward for both players and fans and gives increase meaning to the regular season.

"Handful" of fans booing, my ass.
Loved the sequence where immediately after booing one of our injured players, a chant of "F*** you, Memphis" was started by the student section. I was two sections over. Miss me with that "handful of fans" crap.
Pure and absolute trash.

Maybe due to the fact that trash Memphis players were taunting UCF fans when you were up big and screaming into the stands at them.
As for your "injured" players- OK. It's sooooooooo uncanny how every visiting teams happens to have players get injured on defense immediately following a big play when we're trying to get to the line. Your players miraculously walked off without any help, too.

Did you notice that in the 1st quarter it was nothing like a regular UCF game. No music (zombie nation), no "3rd down" bell, the announcers were very quiet. Then when we got down 24-7 all of the "neutral game" stuff went out the window. I wonder if the AAC tells them to tone it down for the championship.

Your macro point is very well-taken: This is your big thing, mwc? This is the "brand" that we are supposed to be worried about?
Boise's average attendance prior to that CCG was 34,635. Essentially Navy. Navy is squarely in the middle of the pack for AAC attendance, Boise as you say is supposed to be this sensational thing.
The circumstances around the dropoff from 34k to 22k are similar though, with hosting confirmed only the Saturday prior, and the weekly attendance not necessarily being from the immediate local area. Fresno is farther from Boise than Temple is from Annapolis.
But yeah, that's it, mwc? That's what I've been waiting for?

Here is my take:
1. There were some calls that went against Memphis that would have helped, I thought the refs were below average and UCF got a few more calls, but that is life.
2. The relatively few calls that hurt Memphis did not hurt my Tigers as much as UCF outplayed us. The better team won.
3. Memphis played really well. UCF played even better.
4. Both were good teams, no shame in the result, and I'm proud of my Tigers, and offer a hearty congrats to the Knights.
A lot of good in a pretty good game between two really good teams.
On to the bowl games, let's all get some AAC wins...

That's the gist of it. Thankfully a few of us schools in this league have a chance of making some noise the next few years in the NCAA tournament. At least there, its somewhat of a level playing field. Can you imagine back when Calipari was at Memphis - win 30+ games, ranked in the top 5 and yet, sit home for the NCAAs? I enjoy AAC football. Its a pretty good league (on paper, I think its better than the Pac12) but without the money and no chance at the playoff, its pretty irrelevant in the grand scheme of things.
One of those issues will be resolved in the near future.😎

Holy Moly can some of you knight fans accept the win and move on. I guess winning is not enough, you've got to continue to poke at the other teams disappointments. Stay classy and lose the azz holey. CONGRATS now focus on LSU.
