RE: Boca Raton Bowl
Took me all day to finalize reservations... Finally did it.
(1) Would I have preferred New Orleans or Shreveport...? Sure
(2) Was Shreveport or New Orleans a viable option? No, We have a huge hoops game on the 15th. And C-USA couldn't pull in Shreveport.
(3) Will it take a sacrifice to get to Boca Raton? Yep... Just like it did to go to Murfreesboro two weeks in a row.
(4) Did my amazing wife say let's stay all week and enjoy this trip? Yep!

anybody that comes on our board to post any video of UAT losing in anything....well, welcome aboard 04-cheers

80,000 people have never been that quiet.

ERs across the state were filled with wives who "done run into the door" and vet's offices with dogs who "jess falled down somehow en broke they ribs." And it's all your fault.

A year or two back one bammer shot another who "weren't sad enough" that bammer lost.

We are staying in Boca, about 1 1/2 miles from the stadium, and a mile from the beach. Going down Monday, coming back Thursday.

Honestly I'm more disappointed about the opponent. I know Northern Illiniois is the MAC champ but I was hoping to play a P5 or an AAC team.

Boca is one of only three bowls that match up conference champions. I like the matchup.

beats the heck out of playing a Sunbelt team.

Should be a good game without having to listen to fan clashing on both sides.

I like how David Crane was making the call on that video prior to his tenure here.

What was Crane's involvement on the broadcast?

Was it an Alabama broadcast?

Wish I could go, but I'm already taking that Friday off work and all the next week as well, plus Tuesday is our worse clinic day of the week, and will be even worse before a holiday.

RE: Boca Raton Bowl
Initially I would have wished for a matchup with Miami in Shreveport, but this is ok as well.

It would have been hard to make several of the bowl locations & Shreveport may have been the easiest unless we somehow backed into a game within the state.

It is against a good opponent. One that we really can't find a reason to hate even.

It is the only bowl game that day.

We will play in it. Those who can go, will go. & we will press forward whether we win or lose.

Signing day is coming up.

Same for me. This is a made for TV matchup that will draw a lot of eyeballs. A perfect time to start a winning bowl tradition.

Another step towards bigger and better things.

Before joining UAB, David Crane did the play by play on Alabama's video broadcast. Those were usually replayed during the week following the game on the old CSSE network.

RE: Boca Raton Bowl
I think part of the problem with some people's disappointment with where we are heading for a bowl was all the projections, that were just different people's guesses and had no basis in reality. Some people read what some no name at SI or ESPN or CBS said in October or November about where he guessed we might be heading, and put stock in it--when in actuality no one really had a clue until things shook out, and even then we had no idea where Clark and Ingram and the team (and even C-USA) were leaning.

From all indications, they were hoping for and planning on the Boca Bowl all along.

They were hoping Dallas or Shreveport opened up and they didn't. Boca was our next choice then Tampa.

Flights and hotel booked. Tickets purchased. Childcare miraculously arranged. So excited to attend my first bowl game and see the Blazers play one more time this year!
