Agreed. Although ESPN makes the pick and might want to see us playing a better team. I expect Buffalo to go to Boise after they lost. I think Boca vs an AAC like Memphis would be a good matchup. I’d like to see us in Mobile, partly because of better date and easier access, but I don’t think we’d be facIng the 3rd place Sun Belt team. Boise is hard to travel too and flights are limited and expensive. Not much of a reward for fans if you can’t make it.

Believe this is correct. The MAC actually has no preset selection order. ESPN has the #1 pick and then Dollar General gets its pick after ESPN. It then swings back to ESPN to round out the slot. This is how NIU and Akron ended up in Boca in prior years and why there was no MAC team in the Camellia last year. ESPN owns every one of the MAC primary bowls except Dollar General.

I was under the impression MAC owns Dollar General bowl too. Interesting decision if they don’t.

I bet Troy in Dollar General. ESPN will sell it as a rematch of the fantastic 2004 Silicon Valley Football Classic. Hope they can get Pam Ward and T-Zack for the call.

We've had most of our success in bowls against SBC, going 2-0.

I usually root for a bowl game with the best teams, or a lower P5 matchup. This year I want to simply win our bowl game and I do not care if we play Sun Belt opponent etc... We need a Bowl win in the worst way. A Bowl win & Sutton Smith stays for his Sr season and we have major momentum going into next season

This is the matchup that Jerry Palm has also. Although, since he works for CBS, he’s not touting it as a rematch of 2004. The bad part about the MAC, even being the best in it, is that you still get pared up with a team from another brutal conference.

He’s pretty good at knowing a lot of them before released. I like the matchup against uab as their win/loss is inflated from playing no one really and will be an even matchup. Will get some more notice too with them not having a football team just a few years ago to being ranked this year, winning c-USA and now bowl game.

I'm hoping for Boca, about an hour from me. Easy to get to from three airports, Palm Beach, Miami, and Ft. Lauderdale. Nice stadium, I was there for the disaster against Marshall.

Hope to see a bunch of NIU folks there soaking up the warm weather.

I Would assume that the only way the MAC got into the boca bowl this year (if it happens )is because ucf is clearly going to a NY 6 Game. I think Mac was secondary this year and next is a primary.

If Boca vs UAB is where we end up, I’m concerned about the matchup. UAB will be pumped for this with their recent history. I hope we are as well. Would be great to win a bowl game with this group. Will wait to see who plays in the game etc.
