MyBB XFL Cities Leaked?
XFL cities apparently leaked and not necessarily the cities that we al probably thought considering 7 of 8 in NFL towns...

Per the report, the cities (in addition to St. Louis) are Dallas, Houston, L.A., New York, Seattle, Tampa, and Washington.

That looks like a miss to me. Both Dallas and Houston? Perhaps in an expanded format. Tampa won’t support a team. Only 1 Northeast team - NY? Only 1 California? I fully expected something better than this. Kinda disappointed.

Very meh list. Thought that they'd focused on abandoned/neglected markets similar to St. Louis, like San Diego, Oakland, or San Antonio instead of duplication in the likes of Seattle and Tampa. Perhaps there were issues in securing stadium leases in those cities.

Another odd thing about that list, for a spring football league, is that all 8 of those cities have MLB teams.

RE: XFL Cities Leaked?
The AAF clearly targeted 1) large metropolitan markets that do not currently have an NFL franchise and/or 2) metro areas that are in warm-weather locations. The XFL, by the looks of things, specifically targeted NFL markets, based on the size of their fan support (hence why Seattle was chosen).

While these are two completely different methods of securing franchise sites, I think the XFL is still up in the air simply because their vision was "to reimagine the game of football". It will be interesting to see what it ends up looking like. I do wonder what stadiums the XFL will end up utilizing, however. For example, will Houston play in NRG Stadium or TDECU Stadium? Will Dallas have its team play at Arlington, or the Cotton Bowl, or at Ford Stadium? I think the optics of having a game at a 100,000 seat stadium with not as many fans would hurt the product long-term, but who knows what kind of deal the league is getting.

In Houston, they toured TDECU at UH and the Dynamo’s stadium with the Harris County Sports Authority

Which would make sense if the strategy is just to sell the TV networks on the potential numbers of TV viewers, and not to worry about selling tickets.

Unknown at this time if Globe Life Park will be renamed in 2020. Globe Life Field will be opening across the street at the same time. I wouldn't expect Globe Life to keep naming rights at both stadiums.

The Ballpark in Arlington -> Ameriquest Field in Arlington -> Rangers Ballpark in Arlington -> Globe Life Park -> ??? "Your name in Arlington, but announcers will still say Dallas stadium"

RE: XFL Cities Leaked?
Since Houston is getting an XFL franchise, I say it should be named the Oilers so they could troll the NFL. (Or simply have Vince McMahon, or VKM from this point on, pay the Titans and the NFL money for permission to use the name.) I've even got the perfect logo for VKM to use. He can just change the colors to fit whatever the team will have.

Some people think I'm being funny. (Well, I actually am, in a way.) But I'm also being serious. It would also go a long way to show that there is some serious goodwill going on between NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell and VKM.

Yes, and I'm pretty happy about it as well.

Good news for the XFL, Disney (ESPN/ABC) has picked up 22 games. The bad news is I, along with millions of others, won't be watching unless it happens to be on.

RE: XFL Cities Leaked?
This has some major fallout actually. This might be the end of Arena Football as a TV enterprise. They now have competition in the winter months on both ends from the XFL and CFL. This also is pretty smooth timing by the XFL. They start when the NFL stops. You'll essentially have year round football now. NFL -> XFL -> CFL -> CFB -> (repeat)
