I'm assuming Peterson called the plays, and I'm not surprised that it was worse play calling than normal.
Incredibly sad that the biggest positive from today is that ECU kept its streak of not being shutout alive.
I was wondering why they kicked the field goal. So how long is the streak btw?
It goes back to 1997...but I don’t think that had anything to do with kicking the field goal. If you can score points, score them. Why throw a Hail Mary instead of taking 3?

That is one hell of a streak 21 years!
BTW Tulane has a 21 year streak going right now too. They have not shut anyone out since 1997.)

I remember getting blown out by Big East champion Syracuse in 1997 when they were really good and it hurt my pride. Glad we could keep from being shutout but this sucks.

This is the most gloating I've ever heard by a HC. They needed this catharsis after not beating us in over a decade but he will regret these words.

“I’ve been hearing that for three years since we lost to them down there," Doeren said. "Everyone walks by and gives me that little thing that they do (Pirate hook), and I want to break it off, so I did that today. I learned a long time ago, just remember things and get even when you can. I’m motivated by a lot of things. Winning in-state every time we take the field matters.”
Ahead 41-0 with the game well in hand, Doeren had all of his starters in late...
“I remember being in this stadium my first year, it was probably the low point of my career, losing to that football team,” Doeren said. “And to see the progress we’ve had here in back-to-back weeks against in-state teams. In my opinion, this is the best football school in the state of North Carolina with the best fan base in the state of North Carolina.”

I know we horribly sick right now, but I really got a kick out of his comments. Because you know, beating ECU doesn't really mean anything to State fans.
Get used to the hook, we'll be back. Arrrgh

Mo beat them. They finally beat us with one of their best teams ever and an extra $23 million a year. Congrats
