Looks like Martin and his staff killed it on their newest recruiting class this year too.

Exciting to see what Kolby can do at ODU!! His father Billy was a state champ at GB in the mid 90s and has been a coach and an influence for the youth program for years despite being a double amputee.

Locally Coach Martin son Max ranked 1st at 106lbs and on the other extreme Drew Wilder comes in ranked 1st at 285lbs to start the season.

Great Bridge is sending 12 wrestlers and Oscar Smith sending 14 wrestlers to states next week. Both programs are coached by ODU guys and a few future monarchs.

Future Monarch Allred becomes 3x state champ.
Coach Martins son Max becomes a state champ.

757 teams finished states.
Oscar Smith 1st in Class 6
Kellam 2nd in Class 6
Nansemond River 2nd in Class 5
Great Bridge 2nd in Class 4
Poquoson 1st in Class 2

Very cool on both counts. Glad to see it. I think wrestling should have their matches in the new wrestling/volleyball building. Would add better atmosphere to their matches imo. Not sure if Steve wants that or if that is the plan? Will see I guess.

ODuwildman any rumors if senior qualifiers for the tournament would be able to gain a year Of eligibility now that the tournament is canceled? Crazy talk but this is the highest level of wrestling for most.

Wrestling is a winter sport. Extremely doubtful that they (or basketball or swim/dive) get a year back
