I don't post enough about ODU wrestling due to little interest in the sport here. Last night ODU fell to #5 NC State by a 16-15. ODU came away with a few upsets matches.

ODU's Larry Early defeated #2 Hayden Hidlay who placed 2nd at the NCAA tournament last year.
ODU's Seldon Wright beat #17 Daniel Bullard in ot.

Area wrestling. Oscar Smith and Great Bridge wrestling teams are preseason favorites in the area to make a run at state titles. ODU wrestling coach Martin son Max starts his freshman year and will be wrestling at 106 for Great Bridge. The kid has some huge shoes to fill when it comes to high school wrestling.

I think ODU's pipeline to Oscar Smith and Great Bridge wrestlers will be flowing with recruits the next two recruiting cycles. Some good wrestlers at them two schools right now.

Great Bridge's Kolby Allred verbal commitment to Old Dominion University today. #GB2ODU. The kid is entering his junior year in high school with already 1 state title and in shape to be a 3x champ. I aspect another verbal commits from a three-time state champ senior later from GB. Oscar Smith has a few studs I think will come to ODU over the next couple seasons.

FYI. As far as I’m concerned you can post all the wrestling stuff that you want.

ODU currently in 2nd place with 5 wrestlers in the championship bracket at the Reno Tournament of Champions.

One of our guys wrestled this kid from OK State named Dayton Fix who is a beast of a wrestler.

How ironic VA Tech wrestling is ranked 13th. Last time we beat a VA Tech team they were ranked 13th in football!!!

Coach Bobby Wilders son Drew has taken up wrestling and looks to be enjoying it. He has post a couple hip toss videos on Twitter.

Wilder's kid is a big boy.

ODU went 2-2 and finishes 5th at the VA Duals.

Great Bridge vs Oscar Smith in the finals right now. Some future monarchs being showcased from both programs.

we had two weights forfeited today costing us 12 points each match, the VT match might have still been a loss though
