Cmon you miserable fans, time to admit you were wrong. Enjoy this title afterwards.

I think there is a little bit for everyone to eat in this one. Carey silences his haters for this day, and Childers silences his abusers. Everyone owns up to something tonight, that's the beauty of this one.

I see the light! Very proud of this team and they covered the spread, starting this Vegas weekend off right. Enjoy the win folks, hopefully they play like this in the bowl.

If we had lost, I doubt you would have come on here to change your opinion about Carey. We're all happy NIU won, regardless of how anyone feels about Rod.

RE: Admit you were wrong
Of course I would have had more respect for this kid who posted this if he had predicted that Childers will outperform Jackson. At least the coaching staff finally threw the downfield and Childers completed the passes and the receivers didn’t drop them. Makes you wonder why there weren’t those types of adjustments weren’t made for the Miami and WMU games. Did we not want to win those games? Weren’t those games important? Happy and excited my heart wasn’t ripped out but our coaches need to perform more consistently throughout the year.

He cares more about being right than NIU winning. Just an insufferable person.

RE: Admit you were wrong
I have rarely criticized Carey or Childers on this board (especially a young student athlete)...but to gloat and say people should be ashamed of themselves after a comeback win (albeit a very important time) is dumb.

People are concerned because we still have a coach that has done enough to keep his job but not enough to impress. QB play has been similar in terms of success. Childers can improve, Carey is a known product

You were wrong about Childers, thankfully!

RE: Admit you were wrong
Glad to see this isn't about the team winning, fans celebrating.

It's about you being right, everyone being a critic being wrong if they don't agree with you, think like you. That's what really makes you happy. We all know that's what's special to you.

People don't have to answer to you, as much as you feel the need and demand it. I have seen enough people who have been tough on the team, coach admit they were wrong and commend the them. And shockingly, they didn't need to direct at you. THAT is your problem.

So get it all out. Bask in your glory. I'm just confused how they won the game. Especially after trying and winning the BYU game.

#puntthegame.

Yeah, he had so much confidence in the team vs. BYU, coach we heard the famous "punt the game." I am sure that would have been a real hit with Carey and the team.

This is sports, boys. Right after the Toledo game; wrong after the Miami and Western games, right last night. Bowl game in a couple weeks—maybe right, maybe wrong. Lot of people were on the wrong side on the board a few minutes into the second half—-lot of people were on the right side with a minute to go.

There should never be an admission of wrong, or a boast of being right.

So true. Everyone who was "right" last night will be wrong again. and again. and again at some point down the road. And they'll also be right again and again. We don't need a thread every week for being right and being wrong since we are all right and wrong at times.

Just a fantastic win. Definitely will admit I never thought they’d win and certainly didn’t think tbey’d Do it down 19.

I was out and didn't get to watch. I checked the score at halftime and saw the score and thought crap, we're not going to come back down 12. When I got home at 1 am and read the game thread, I was so happy and can't wait to watch the DVR of the game. Nice to win an MACC and I hope they continue to play well in a bowl game.

RE: Admit you were wrong
I have not been a fan of Carey though I have not called for him to be fired. However, you have to give him his due, he won a MAC Championship with players that he recruited and that is difficult to do. The MAC is far from a P5 conference but it is better than some people think. Most games have one of two future NFL players on the field. NIU's defense this year is as good as most P5 defenses and better than some. Our QB and receivers have been weak this season but Childers is a competitor, he has been working on his game and it shows. Our receivers have been poor all season long but somehow it all came together last night and Childers and his receivers excelled when it mattered most.

This is a time to take a break from criticizing the program, to be thankful for our players and coaches and to be happy. Enjoy and take pride in this accomplishment for at least a week or two.
