Pretty close: Klieman on K-State situation: “Nothing has changed from Saturday. I’ll know more about it later tonight and tomorrow.”

Guessing he isn't supposed to break the news till K State does.

Watched the first 10 minutes and press only mentioned KSU once in a question. Got to press a bit more than that for answers.

They did follow up, and he would not confirm he will be coaching Friday.

They already went through this in 2013 and still won the NC. They lost a ton of talent from that team and didnt miss a beat. I'm gonna bet they are going to be just fine next year

Seems more of the staff might be leaving this time. Don’t believe they had much turnover at all in the previous transition. I think they’ll still be fine though.

When Bohl left we retained exactly 3 coaches. Klieman, Connor Riley and one other coach I can't even remember right now.

NDSU's next HC will be Tim Polasek, if Klieman leaves.

Nice little nugget around 8:30 from Coach Klieman about JMU in '16 that you might like.

Ok, not exactly how it was reported elsewhere second-hand, but also a very open ended response, very similar to what we heard from Houston.

We heard a lot of "I'm still the coach" and "I don't know what my future holds" type statements right before the ECU plane landed to meet him and sign the deal.

Let's put it this way, on Friday I was told he was going to be the next HC @ K-State. On Saturday that same source told me that boosters @ K-State balked HARD and it's now a 50/50 shot. That's what it's been since.

If I'm a betting man, Chris Klieman will lead NDSU out the tunnel on Friday night while being the coach of Kansas State and North Dakota State - and will be in Frisco as well if we take care of business on Friday night.

I don’t know exact numbers, but they immediately announced Kleiman to be promoted really quick.

If Kleiman takes a bunch of top assistants with him, it’d be more of a true rebuild for them compared to 2013.

Any idea why the push-back by boosters?

They want someone higher-profile than an FCS head coach. Some fans are upset that Kansas landed Les Miles and they're getting a coach of a school that they hear about once or twice a year. Plus, I think it rustled their jimmies that they got turned down by UNT's coach.

"He is an FCS coach with no P5 experience who doesn't recruit our footprint of Texas."

P5's don't like FCS coaches, man. Just like I was telling y'all with regards to Mike Houston and why the Charlotte offer made sense, same with ECU, etc.

Probably because. Like a lot of schools, they think an fcs coach is beneath them. Maybe they’re expecting to lure away Nick Saban?

This situation is just strange on social media. It has become K-State fans expressing their disdain at the prospect of Klieman. But, then NDSU fans try to defend him and justify him being right for the job. I get being supportive and all but geez don’t try and push him out.

There seems to be a back and forth of KSU fans saying, "We're better than some FCS coach," and NDSU fans saying, "We're better than most G5 teams, it's a good hire." Two fan bases looking for validation that they're higher status than others think.

This is a prime example of how P5 fans are the worst. KSU isn’t as big of a deal as you think it is.

RE: Wow - Klieman to KSU?
Congrats to Chris Kleiman. He accomplished all he could in Fargo and is ready for a new challenge. KSU are clueless how good of a hire this is for their football program. KSU is never going to out recruit Texas and Oklahoma for recruits in the B12. They need a coach who can develop talent. Kleiman is the perfect hire for Manhattan.

Somewhere both Bohl and Houston are thinking, “****, it must be nice to have a buddy as a P5 AD.”
