I like Tim Miles. In a time that every coach takes their lines from Bull Durham he was refreshing as an interviewee. Tim certainly raised the talent level in Lincoln but Tim just had problems with consistency. I don't follow Nebrasketball closely enough to know why they only had 5 scholarship players out of a possible 13 but those 5 we're good players and I think Tim deserves respect for the job he's done. Enter Fred Hoiberg. I love this hire for Nebraska. I mean seriously the dude was born in Lincoln and his Grandfather coached Nebraska. He has a proven track record, an exciting brand of basketball, and if he can win at Iowa State he can definitely win at Nebraska. Nebraska has spent a lot of money on a first class practice facility and sparkly new arena. They are serious about winning basketball games and they have all of the pieces in place. As with any college team the primary challenge will be recruiting at an elite level to Lincoln. But even if he can recruit good to very good players and has 3-4 year to develop them, he'll be consistently in the top 5 of the B1G annually which allow him to make deep runs in the NCAA tournament. I'm excited by this hire and Nebraska fans should be excited too.

Nebraska is making a strong commitment to basketball that I wish Penn State would make. I hope it works out for them.

I liked Miles too! I also had issues with how their AD went about this process with Miles. If this is 100% true, he didn't even attend the BIG tournament but claimed he was still evaluating Miles performance? That just rubbed me wrong when I heard that. Best way to evaluate is in person and it says a lot about him in my opinion.
Agree though, really good hire and they have great basketball facilities in Lincoln.
