Whoa, whoa... Hold your horses, pal. Childers will not finish third or better in the Heisman balloting next year or after...

Still had happy feet, but he showed us the 'arm' is in there, can it be consistent and figure it all the way?

Perhaps we practice too much indoor because of our newer facility. Need to go back to the old Novak days in some regards.

Regarding his running, Lynch stayed squared and never hesitated. Kept strong legs when he ran. Childers kind of tip toes a bit. Though has been a decent runner, especially for a qb

Can we give some props to Tears too? Wow what a performance by that kid, made multiple big time difficult catches in the clutch. One of the most impressive performances from a WR at NIU that i remember in a long time. That TD he caught that called back was nuts

RE: Childers
Regarding the IPF, it certainly showed in this game as the players seemed very comfortable playing indoors. I recall the MACC against Akron and players were cramping in the 4th Quarter. At that time, we didn't have an IPF so there was alot of practice outdoors in the cold. This did not help us for playing indoors for the MACC.

RE: Childers
Childers and the WR's looked great in the 4th. Childers was poised and confident, Brown, Tears and Brinkman were pumped, i dont think there was a single drop among them...Tears for the first time really shined last night, he could be special next season.

Congrats to all!!

Thanks badmoon——-Childers has one great game, a few alright games, and a huge pile of games that we are thankful we have a great defense and now Jordan Lynch has stepped back on campus. Let’s enjoy the moment and remember Jay Cutler made the playoffs once as a Bear. Sometimes the blind squirrel does find the acorn. Let make this a trend and then start with some better comparisons than Jordan Lynch, please.

We have seen glimpses of what Childers can do both passing and running, the question that remains is if Childers can put it all together for more than one half game in and game out. If he does, he could be really good.

RE: Childers
Childers progression is more akin to that of Josh Haldi, than that of Lynch

+1000 - Lynch was one of the, if not the best, skill players in NIU history.. and that's saying something with Wolfe, Turner, Johnson, etc.
I don't see Childers being even close to the runner that Lynch was. Hopefully he can improve and become a more accurate passer (and learn some touch). Lynch also had some playmakers at wr that Childers hasn't had.

By the way, I remember when 7 said before Lynch's junior year that he could be better than Harnish. I thought he was crazy (he might still be), but he was dead on before anyone else said he could do the things he did.

RE: Childers
I called Childers the worst QB in division 1 after last week. Kudos to the kid for playing lights out. Let's see how he progresses from here

He obviously has a decent arm. It just seems that weather conditions really effect his play.

If Childers can establish a deep ball threat, that will open up running lanes and expand the success of our playbook. Lets see if this was an outlier or real progress.

Yikes. I did not mean better than Lynch. Maybe a reduced version or just a bit more than that. I do not see better than Lynch. My bad on grammer

OK—story ends with a photo of Sutton——did he get engaged last night? If so, congrats Sut! You gotta believe that he is going to declare for the draft.

I was the first to say that Lynch would be better than Chandler. Look it up...

RE: Childers
That was the breakout game I was waiting for from Childers. He picked a good game to have it. Kudos to him and the WRs. If we could regularly get that kind of offense along with this defense, look out.

I never meant to say Childers will be better than Lynch. It would be a nice surprise if he did, but no not on the cards.
