I live in Baton Rouge, where on my COX cable package the SECN actually has 3 channels available to it (though most of the time only one is in use) and everyone who doesn't have the barest bones package gets it, LOL, but the BTN and PAC 12 Network are on a high tier you have to pay extra for.

I haven't even checked if I am getting the ACCN yet. Probably will on Thursday evening when I want to look in on how many zillions of points Clemson is beating Tech by.

I don't see how that's true, given the the reason Direct TV has not picked up the PAC 12 networks is that they, unlike cable, can't turn it on and off individually, and thus have to pay the nationwide prices already negotiated with cable -- the so called Most Favored Nation rates.

That raises the question of how the footprint is defined. What footprint do you give Notre Dame? Indiana, Michigan, Chicagoland?

I just scrolled through my entire Cox Cable lineup here in Baton Rouge, and unless I blinked and missed it, the ACCN isn't even available for purchase.

E.g., I don't subscribe to the PAC 12 Network, the BTN, or the Longhorn Network, but they are on my channel guide, I could pay more and get them if i wanted.

But the ACCN isn't even available, it doesn't have a channel out there.

CORRECT: Cox doesn't have a contract with the ACCN yet - but they ARE in negotiations. Whether they sign up this month, this year, or a year from now - no one knows yet.

Well, when they're negotiating these contracts they don't care about any of that - they only care about TV markets - and they have to draw the line somewhere. I'm guess that line includes Indiana and may or may not include Chicago.

Syracuse and BC are very similar. They get about 1/3rd of their students in state. The other states in the BOS-WASH fill in another large chunk. However, Syracuse acts more like a State School sports wise because they dominate pretty much a 100 mile circle around Syracuse for TV eyeballs. BC is pretty much a nonplayer in Boston unless they are nationally relevant at the moment in FB or Hockey.

In addition to the Red Sox and Bruins, NESN carries the ACC RSN package, Hockey East, UMass and other New England college games. Certainly worth the difference over Hulu Live in New England anyway.

No, RSN are carrying games like WCU vs NCSU and Citadel vs GT. Looks to be home of the ACC vs FCS games.
