There is a lot of griping in game threads about officiating. How much difference in compensation is there among the 10 or 11 conferences (or between different sports within a conference) that might contribute to quality level of product on the field or on the court? Does C-USA have an abundance of applicants to sort through every year or do they have "to beat the bushes" just to get enough "warm bodies" every season?

There’s a lot of complaining by fans (not casual observers) at every level. Most of it is invalid
The end of the Steelers vs Chargers NFL game may have struck UAB fans as familiar. With the score tied and 3 seconds on the clock, the Chargers missed their FG,but the Steelers were offsides. On their second try, the kick was blocked but again the Steelers were offsides. On the third try now from 10 yards closer, the Steelers were offsides for a third time, but the kick was good and the Chargers won. The offending Steeler dove past the ball before it was kicked making it look even worse.
