His name would have been on list for most all openings had he been looking.
His defense was 2nd in the nation in 3rd down conversion allowed
Led CUSA in Tckles for loss and sacks.
Led the nation in 4th down conversions allowed.
Yet UAB did not have a 1st team all conference player on defense.
He probably knew the raise and extension were coming.
I bet he wants to unwrap our shiny new stadium in 2021.
What a great life for Coach Clark in Birmingham.
I would think any school wanting to step up in football would do the same.

Where do you think you’re stepping up to?

Stepping up from no team.
BIRMINGHAM is behind this team now.
Time to win.

Once the playing field is level again then an assessment could have been made. UAB has 37 seniors, the oldest team in FBS, and will be short 10 scholarships next year

So you think Clark is dumb enough to stick around and watch his stock drop, when he could be at a P5 right now? He is coming back because he knows this program will get even better and his stock will rise. Wishful thinking though because some of you same fans who knew what our provisions were from the NCAA said it would take years to be competitive, you get your behind handed to you and now you whine like...

I didn't see his name mentioned for any of the P5 vacancies, or at least in serious consideration for any of them. I believe someone has said that he's close to receiving his pension for the state of Alabama. So I'm sure he wants to get eligible for that before he considers leaving the state anyway. It will be interesting to see how UAB performs once all the special provisions are gone.

Exactly. I have heard no mention of Bill Clark for a P5 HC. I'm sure all of the advantages given were the main concern of P5 AD. Those advantages are unprecedented so I'm sure the P5 AD's are taking a wait and see stance on Clark

So today the story is no one wants our coach. Yesterday it was you won’t be able to keep him much longer. His name was mentioned for the Ga Tech job.

He was also on Louisville's list. FWIW, Clark would have been in Auburn's top 3 had they decided to move on from Malzahn.

Signing with Jimmy Sexton is bad news for UNT fans. Sexton is a very effective agent and will be looking to find their coach a job at a bigger school.

Seth Littrell may have missed his window of opportunity. His UNT team went 5-4 over their last 9 games, including an embarrassing 52-13 blowout loss to another G5 school in the New Mexico Bowl. I hope UNT keeps him. I really do. 07-coffee3

I agree. Littrell is not a P5 caliber coach yet. He has yet to learn how to make adjustments during the game, when opposing defenses slow down our spread. He has done a great job of building quality skill position players at UNT, but has yet to develop the lines on our offense or defense. Also, this is the first season he has produced a good recruiting class. He has more to prove before going to a P5.

In my opinion, he will correct all of these issues in the next few seasons at North Texas. I'm also glad he will be staying. He loves UNT. Littrell is currently the 11th highest paid coach in the G5. I feel confident any restructured contract will place near the top 5. It will be interesting to follow.
