I have no problem with the opposition, I do find it interesting that someone's work or affiliations from 30 years ago are so important...

is this the new standard for judge appointees? I guess if we can go to Gorsuch and Kavanaugh's high school records then anything's possible.

Uh, NC attempts to stifle Democrat votes unfairly is still a VERY salient issue. And what has Farr done SINCE then to atone for his actions? Did he apologize and say he was wrong?

Tell me, just how long has NC been attempting to "stifle" democrat votes?

Its been going on for a while, and been getting worse, not better.

You have no idea how long it's been going on. Only there was nary a peep when the Democrats held a 140 year long stranglehold in the state legislature. (See I-85 District 12.)

NC has been made a hotbed of voter suppression adn gerrymandering accusations every since the dems lost control. Simply looking at the numbers reveals there isn't anything to the accusations.

There are 2.7mm registered dems, 2.1mm registered republicans, and 2.2mm registered independents. There are 4.5mm registered whites and 1.5mm registered blacks. There are 9 out of 100 counties where there are more registered black voters than white voters. Nearly half of all registered black voters live in just 5 counties.

https://vt.ncsbe.gov/RegStat/Results/?da...F24%2F2018

It's easy to look at the republicans in charge and scream racism. Looking at the actual numbers, its much more a demographic denisity issue.

And it almost always is. If that wasn’t the case, that this cry of Gerrymandering!!! IOW’s concentrating voters to maximize their ability to elect people they feel “represent my people”, you’d have far FEWER minorities elected to the house. Anyone honestly think the corrupt, ineffective, incompetent buffoon Bobby Scott could get elected dog catcher over and over if his district didn’t start in Petersburg and meander all the way to VaBeach?

Damn district looks like some kind of ink blot test.

I would like to past a law that is illegal to gerrymander districts for one side or the other. The new districts should have equal parts. No more ink splot test patterns. The districts should be neutral. That means the minority of people of one party over the other will bw eliminated.

Equal parts?
