Your buddy,
Terry Holland

We'll trade you Houston for an AAC invite.

JMU could and would turn down that conference invite is a new york minute (make up the story afterword) but it takes 2 months to hire a transgender magical games coach.

So is this now the Houston thread going forward? Is anyone else in play besides ECU? I can’t keep up

ECU is lead candidate, and most likely where he lands. Some people in ECU land think it’s done (but Charlotte did too)

Other possible schools include App St and GT.
GT might sound like a stretch, but some UNC people are wishing they had looked at him now. Houston is the new hot thing for the moment, Charlotte offer gave him more buzz.

I put it at 90% ECU.

RE: Houston to ECU?
ECU seems like a good job with local ties, former assistants with history there and enough $ to be set for a long time in a conference that gets him closer to where he probably wants to get too. I'm sure that is how this ends, it even seemed like ECU paid an extra 500k to get the ball moving faster here. But if the world was in Mike Houston's hands (oh hell it still is), he at least has one less card to play from his stacked stuffed hand of Aces from this morning.

Two things would make this off the charts interesting are if somehow the ECU job fell through for whatever reason. Houston stays which is great but you know what he's willing to leave for and could affect his relationships at JMU as well as future recruiting.

If he takes the ECU job I cannot imagine him staying with the Dukes past the NDST game. This is unlikely to matter since you all will probably be a 2 TD dog up there but if you win at the Fargo dome I don't understand how he can finish the season with JMU unless he really is working both jobs at the same time. It's best for JMU for the Houston staff to stay status qua but ECU has to move forward.

There is some real drama at work here. Normally the nuclear bomb goes off (Bruce Feldman's tweet of Houston agreeing to take Charlotte job) , the coaches offices clear and the fallout is left behind. In this case the guy who is sticking a knife in your back is being very clear that he is considering shanking you and that hes being completely honest about everything and wants everyone to just focus on Colgate.

Yeah I'd agree with at least 90%. It makes about as much sense as any realistic move ever could for Houston, and I'd imagine ECU wouldn't have pulled the trigger on firing Mo as soon as Houston to Charlotte leaked unless they were leaning very hard towards Houston being their guy.

RE: Houston to ECU?
Interesting take on ECU job:

Coach Logan was winningest coach in ECU history.

“A massive rebuild needs to take place”

“If you win you will be tolerated for 6 and a half days”

Its been quite entertaining to bounce between UNCC, ECU, JMU, and App State fan boards just to take in all the dramatic ups and downs over one coach and one poorly timed leak.

Again...for what its worth.

Lol they don’t know what they’re talking about. He’s not there. Boneyard is all fringe. Look at 247 for a little more representative view.

If true (hopefully not), then it’s really disrespectful to the student athletes at JMU given the game tomorrow

Yea, can’t see him (or almost anyone frankly) doing that in the current situation.

Appy at ECU basketball. Seems extremely unlikely to be true.
