Butch jones was in play before and would be a worthy candidate. He could succeed here. No problem

He would bring name recognition & HC experience at P5 level. VT should definitely inquire. This would get me more excited than Satterfield or even Holgerson. For an up & comer though I would take Satterfield.

He also said He will meet with Louisville. He said He owes it to His family to have a chance to step up. Louisville through thick and thin is still a great place to be.

I'm sure Louisville is a fine city, but it isn't Boone. If he leaves it will be a financial and/or competitiveness decision, not a step up in location.

Ordinarily I would agree but the pickings are slim. Is Satterfield ready for the P5 level? Thats a huge risk, even if he has done great things at App St.

Honestly I want Vince Tyra to talk to everyone...Chip Long-(Notre Dame Offensive Coordinator), Scott Satterfield, Tony Elliott-(Clemson Co-Offensive Coordinator), Mel Tucker-(if he hasn’t officially taken the Colorado job the Georgia Defensive Coordinator) and Dave Aranda the LSU Defensive Coordinator.

We all know that Brent Venables and Ryan Day are off the table...but I want Tyra to do his due diligence. Not worried bout this Recruiting class since it is going to be small anyway due to scholarship limitations. It is more important to get the hire right and change the culture and clean up Petrino mess.

Mystery candidate reviled? Speculation included Dana Holgerson but now may be Matt Canada.

http://footballscoop.com/news/update-lou...re-coming/

Update> Source tells FootballScoop Matt Canada is speaking with Tyra today. Canada earned accolades from some for the way he held things together at Maryland this season.

Prior to joining Maryland’s staff as offensive coordinator for DJ Durkin, Canada had spent one year as LSU’s offensive coordinator, one year at Pitt’s, 3 seasons as NC State’s, one as Wisconsin’s, one at Northern Illinois, etc…

The mystery candidate remains a mystery.

https://www.cardchronicle.com/2018/12/3/...-candidate

On Monday morning, Football Scoop reported that Tyra was meeting with the mystery coach later in the day, and that it was interim Maryland head coach Matt Canada. That report has since been refuted by ESPN’s Adam Rittenberg.

Well if he didn't meet with Canada, he SHOULD have!

Keep thinking that way, and spread the word. Fickell isn't worth any consideration because he's been a head coach for two years and has only one ten-win season.

Hes been a head coach for 3 years. And he had the the first losing season at OSU in over 2 decades. That almost takes effort
