...... well ....... I mean it's hard to pan this as stupid. But I would be less excited than I would be for Satterfield.

Exclamation RE: 5 possible replacements for Paul Johnson at Tech
Quote:I’ve had two head coaches and one agent text me all saying basically the same thing…. “Georgia Tech is job everyone should want”
- FootballScoop Staff on Twitter

To us fans we might think "there's no way they'll ever win a national championship at Georgia Tech - why would anyone want to coach there?" But this tweet shows that winning championships isn't the only thing that makes a coaching job desirable. GT is in a good location for recruiting (i.e. you don't have to stay on the road all the time) and it's in a winnable division (ACC Coastal). Fan support is decent, but expectations are not outlandish. It's not for everybody, but I could see a lot of coaches being interested in this job opening.

The fan support is there if the product is there. GT graduates are dispersed widely due to the nature of their work. For the same reason you're not going to find one huge central collection of alumni for the Colorado School of Mines you won't find one huge central collection of alumni for GT. But there are pockets everywhere, and the I-85 corridor is where they're thickest. If you want to see what full GT fan support looks like go on YouTube and watch the 1991 Citrus Bowl. Now try to find the Nebraska fans in the stands.
