Watch Parties - MACC
Any watch parties? Most have been pretty lame. I am in Addison area. Gonna watch game out but still deciding. Need to find a place willing to put the sound on.

From looking at the pics I am pretty sure this is the bar I went to a couple of years ago and had a good time with a bunch of other NIU fans, and there was even some NIU stuff they gave away. Is my memory correct? If so I may make the trek from Naperville, as I would like to watch the game with other NIU fans.

IDK. There is an Anyways in Lombard and in Bloomingdale but they have not promoted anything. Last time I went to Top Golf. I don't see anything there. Plus I went there for a watch party for the Ball State game? and they did not have any specials for NIU. The Dude was the host.

Thanks. It may have been Anyways; I really don't remember. I will make the trek to 601 bar in Addison. Since you said you would probably go there at least there will be 2 of us, and maybe some other NIU fans will show up!

RE: Watch Parties - MACC
I know I'm a day late and a dollar short here, but my old college roomie and I met up at Bulldog Ale House in North Aurora and had a great time. I wasn't an official "Watch Party" but there were a few NIU fans there at the bar and the bartenders had the game on a lot of tvs (although with no sound, which was fine). In the 2nd half, the majority of the place was cheering for NIU.

Turned out to be a pretty good place to watch the game.

RE: Watch Parties - MACC
I usually get home from work between 5:30 and 6. I was hoping to just have a watch party of two, with my wife, in our living room.

On the way home, I received a call from my wife. She said she was having some major abdominal pain and she might have to go to the emergency room. She was hoping it would get better, but right about when ESPN switched over to the game, she informed me that it had gotten worse. So I set the DVR to record the game, and we went to the ER at Rush-Copley. Fortunately, I have a Slingbox. Between waiting an hour, getting tested, waiting an hour, get X-Rayed, Wait an hour, get the diagnoses, I was able to watch the game and control my DirecTV receiver from my iPhone. And thatis how I saw the Huskies become MAC champions - on my iPhone in the ER waiting room at Rush-Copley. I could not help but jump up and down and yell when DJ Brown caught the game winning TD.

My wife is doing better. She had Hydronephrosis and severe constipation. She will see a nephrologist tomorrow.

The moral of the story is you have to have priorities, and you need to be prepared.

It was nice to meet NILAW. I bailed at half time disgusted by the play of NIU. Have to remember that there are 4 quarters to a game.

It was nice to meet klake87 as well. I stuck it out until the end; I guess I am stubborn.
