RE: Story on Hoops recruits
When I see stories like this my frustration grows as to why KSU cannot (or will not) consistently retain quality recruits from NE Ohio.

Have you been to the new Savage Hall? Compare it to the MAC Center. Put it this way - during graduation the UT players aren’t going to the rec center for practice.
Even if that isn’t the primary reason, Toledo’s coaching staff has long been accused - though never charged - of pretty unsavory recruiting tactics.

Garfield Heights also currently has a sophomore PG whose dad played for Kent, Meechie Johnson Jr. Seems like it would be a waste of time trying to recruit him though. He already has an offer from OSU and had an offer from Pitino before he got canned. I think Sonny Johnson Jr is a freshman there too. I wonder if Juby Johnson Jr exists? That family can hoop.
It is a real shame Meechie Sr didn't finish his career at Kent. Seems like keeping that relationship strong could've ended up getting us an inside track on some big local recruits.

Jerimah Hernandez's teammate that is going to Wright St broke his hand. So that means Hernandez is going to be taking over the PG duties. Could end up helping him be able to contribute more right away as it was originally reported that Kent views him as a PG.

RE: Story on Hoops recruits
Saw on verbal commits we were the first team to offer a 5'9" Sophomore PG from Columbus named Jalen Sullinger. He's the son of the eldest Sullinger, JJ. Apparently he's close friends with Evan Turner and Jared said if he grows he'll be the best Sullinger. Let's hope that growth spurt waits a little bit and he wants to play for his uncle.
