I'm not. I don't expect any sellouts this season. I don't know if we can even have a sellout with our stadium. We have the section on the hill for general admission that doesn't have a specific number to sell. In addition, we didn't have a great season last year to build momentum.

Regardless of that, our attendance last season was just over 16,000 so we weren't even close to hitting our stated capacity of 25,000. Maybe if a nearby P5 like UVA, VT, or a school with a great traveling fan base would.sellout our stadium.

Weather obviously played a large role last year. I think we will be 24+ for the Syracuse game. My guess is 24,784.

RE: 2019 Football Season
I found some numbers from last year, as of the Monday before the ODU game. These were the east reserved sections 213-215 and the seats remaining. It relies on Liberty not masking their ticket sales with the seat selector, but i can't prove either way how much they do that:

213 - 396
214 - 253
215 - 379

I just looked at the stadium map for tickets this year, and it looks like this:

213 - 169
214 - 8
215 - 204

If that's accurate, that's a 60% reduction in seats available for the best east side sections. It looks like we are doing much better in sections 203 and 207 this year too; but, the the upper deck west side end sections (on the 10 yard line) haven't sold much.

I've learned to be disappointed with turn-outs in the FBS era so far. But, there are some signs of life with the seating map. I'm also not sure how the higher ticket cost will deter walk up sales.

RE: 2019 Football Season
Living in Florida, one of my neighbors is a SU fan. I asked him how well SU travels to away games. He says poorly. Now a top 25 ranking should generate an additional interest for SU fans and LU fans. And reports from the NY media state the "FF" (Freeze Factor) has caused this game to be a focused game for SU, not taking LU lightly. If 1,500 SU fans traveled, and LU could draw 20K-22K fans, which I believe is likely, then a sellout is within reason. The media and national attention with the SU game should translate into more interest hence more attendance. My guess is 25k+, a sellout.

RE: 2019 Football Season
Too, I think we will find more tickets sold this week after the Week 0 games now have people remembering: Oh hey, that's right around the corner!

Honestly, until the Florida-Miami game, I had forgotten just close all of this was to starting, & I'm finding a lot of other people are responding the same way.

Any comment on your thought of the score. Without some mention or analysis it seems impulsive.

RE: 2019 Football Season
I think Freeze being in the booth will motivate the team to play above their talent level, and being at home will be a big boost to the team as well. However, Syracuse is a much more talented team and I have zero confidence that our defense will be able to stop them on a consistent basis. It was so bad last year and I don't expect it to be automatically fixed with new coaches and a bunch of transfers. Overall, Syracuse rolls to a comfortable victory 45 - 27.

If anyone is interested, two future LU opponents are playing tonight (UMass and Rutgers).

I'm going to run an experiment. This is the first season post FBS transition. The LU football Facebook page current has 17,515 likes. I will compare the numbers of likes at the end of the first FBS season.

That cane to mind for twitter but I can’t wait to see your results. I’m hoping that it’ll triple and I’ll even be fine with people on the bandwagon!

RE: 2019 Football Season
They just announced the attendance and it was like 21,600 (something around that). HUGE disappointment on that.

I didn't buy the talk of a sellout prior to the game. My guess would have been 20,000 so I would have been short. Still a big improvement over 2018 so I am encouraged that it might carry forward the rest of the year.

Guys over on ASOR are kinda ripping our radio guys. Each time I’ve listened I’ve always enjoyed them and thought they did an excellent job. Anybody else listen to LU radio broadcasts and feel our radio guys are good/bad?

I’ve listened the past 2 weeks and they are decent. Alan York is a great play by play but the other guy isn’t my favorite.
