A good young upcoming coach is Will Healy from Charlotte.
Maybe for Memphis since he is a Tennessee native and coached at Chattanooga and brought Austin Peay back from death as their HC.
But, Memphis may hire their interim coach and keep him as HC.
And maybe Luke Fickell for Boston College.

As a Penn State fan, I'm indifferent about losing him. Could have been worse but he had some really questionable calls during important moments in games. It's debatable if he made players better or if the players made him look good. As a Liberty fan, I don't feel threatened he's going to Old Dominion or relieved.

Crazy to think that Drinkwitz was on some LU fans short list to coach at LU last coaching search. He really is rising.

So far I’m most interested in the Florida St., Memphis, and Rutgers hires.
Interested to see if Norvell will bring success to FSU or have a similar record that Fuente brought to Va. Tech from Memphis. Will hiring from within lead to continued success at Memphis? Will Schiano be able to bring Rutgers back to the heights he had them before?

I think the first key for Schiano is to keep NJ talent at RU. The p1g wants NJ talent and RU creates a bridge for other p1g programs to recruit NJ. It is legitimately a long road for RU given their division.

I think Florida State got a good hire. I think they'll be bowl eligible by 2021 and about 8 wins by 2022 if he works out. The easy part is that the ACC is a dumpster fire. The hard part is FSU is probably third in the state's hierarchy for recruiting right now with nearby Georgia killing it and Georgia Tech making a comeback. Norvell built on Fuente's success, can he build from scratch?

Speaking of, I don't like who Memphis hired. They stayed in-house but essentially the rest of the coaching staff left for Florida State. Norvell was great at hiring coaches but not many are staying. Complete question mark to me that I am hesitant to say I think it will work out.

Schiano to Rutgers is fine to me. He hasn't been a head coach in a while and coming back to a school rarely works out. I do think he is the best coach they've had since himself and will get the patience, investment, and has the knowledge to succeed there. Depending on how they schedule non-conference, I think he can make them regularly bowl eligible but I think 8 wins is about maximum for a while until he (or someone) gets a foundation set and the recruits stay in the state.

The last two vacancies have been filled for this season. Fresno St. hired Indiana OC Kalen DeBoer and New Mexico hired alum, former player, and local guy Danny Gonzalez, the DC for Az. St.

I guess Baylor is now part of the list. Every P5 job that opens up seems to add HF to their list of potential head coaches.

Baylor and Mississippi State both have openings, or at least I don't think MSU filled their vacancy yet. I'm not afraid of Freeze going to the SEC as I think the school hiring him would have to get approval by the commissioner and he's not likely to approve. Baylor doesn't worry me as they likely want squeaky clean coaches for a long while and Freeze doesn't fit the bill.

San Diego St. just replaced Rocky Long with Brady Hoke. Successful Coach Long retired and Hoke is back for his second stint as HC at SDSU. He did very well his first time.

Mike Leach to MSU. WSU needs a HC.
