Alcohol Sales at Sporting Events
So I’ve seen this a lot around the country and wondered y’all’s take on it. Would you support selling alcohol at the sporting events? Why and why not?

If they were to change the rule on campus, then sure, maybe.

But as long as it's not allowed on campus, they shouldn't then sell it at the games.05-nono

Personally I’m for it. I think it’s already known that it’s on campus. I also don’t see anything wrong with it from a biblical standpoint as long as it isn’t being over done. I’d like to see a 3 drink limit on it.

Oh I'm with you on that. But, as long as it's encoded in the rules, kind of hard to justify selling it, that's all.

I agree. Nothing wrong with responsible drinking but it sets a bad precedent. It makes Liberty look even more money hungry while looking hypocritical.

I voted "Yes" with a limit such as 2-3 drinks most per person. I have an understanding of both sides of the issue.

RE: Alcohol Sales at Sporting Events
I’m a hard no for now. I love the family friendly fun atmosphere at Liberty games. I think it’s one of the things that makes it special and great. I am not against alcohol at all, consumed in moderation. But there is no way to control the consumption once you open pandora’s box. A guy will buy three beers, then have his buddy buy three more and so on. I have seen the disgrace and rude behavior drunks bring to the stadium and I’ve been on the receiving end of it. That’s not how we want to represent Liberty University. It would be a poor statement to have a drunken Liberty fan wearing LU gear swearing and fighting on TV.

RE: Alcohol Sales at Sporting Events
This actually reminded me of the game against Syracuse. I was sitting among some of their fan base and a few were drunk during the game. They were obnoxious and it was sad to see how they were embarrassing themselves. We really do not need to have this occurring for us on live tv,etc. We already have a lot of enemies that hate our school and what it represents. We don't need to give them more reasons to point the finger and accuse us for more things taken out of context or not as bad as it's portrayed.

Dr. Falwell's father was a bootlegger, and it was one of his main reasons why he was such an ardent opponent of alcohol. So I don't see Jr. changing that rule anytime soon, at the very least out of respect for his father.
