You'd think, as a sports "journalist", he would at least be neutral considering his audience. I've told this story before but I will nutshell it. Back when Minter was fired, I was working in a sandwich shop in Clifton. Broo often stopped in on his way to work. I asked him about Frank Solich possibly being the next UC HC (since Solich was out of work and he was a rumored target for UC). He laughed and said (exact statement) "Frank Solich wouldn't come to Cincinnati. People are more interested in watching Heidi than UC Football." The store was on W. McMillan, right next to campus. Football wasn't popular then but the dude obviously doesn't know his audience (I was also wearing a UC hat). In hindsight, I'm glad we didn't hire Solich, although you could argue we kind of did in Tuberville. Bottom line - Broo has never liked UC football and will only cover them when he has to. I'm sure he was thrilled with the outcome of the UCF game.

If you saw the attendance at the game Fri. night, why would you not believe this ? Where else would a 9-2 team on Senior night have a stadium that is a quarter filled ? Hell, soccer has outdrawn the 10-2 Cats.

I don’t believe it because it’s not true. UC Fball has plenty of interest. The non UC Fball crowd always brings up ridiculous comments about soccer. FCC outdraws the Reds, which is their direct competition, and I still hear the same tired Reds stories.

Douchebag alert! Here is Broo in Paul [Dik] Daugherty's basement wearing his Ohio University gear...

#1: it's KEENAN Singleton.

#2: he was making a joke, on some "if I've gotta make a weekend trip in late December(to cover the team) I'd rather go to Florida than Virginia".

#3: can we not be so sensitive and corny?

The bolded statement is funny b/c Bill Koch complained when he had to travel to Florida to cover UC in the Orange Bowl. He said he could do it from his living room.

I think individuals tend to be "sensitive," as you put it, since most of the time the local media is taking a shot at anything UC, especially Broo.

Ken Broo heard all of your complaints and is giving us a wonderful Christmas present! According to the Enquirer, he's retiring at the end of the year.

It's only right that WCPO gets a Xavier fanboy to fill his spot.

He’s still going to be on radio though.

I think we can count on your prediction about WCPO's backfill.

My guess is Broo moves to WLW radio full-time for morning drive; McConnell moves back to his mid-morning time slot. Or maybe Broo moves to Athens and does sports promotion for his beloved Bobcats?
