Levi Bradley Signs Pro Contract with Bristol Flyers

Quote:DEKALB, IL – Former Northern Illinois University men's basketball standout Levi Bradley has signed a professional contract with the Bristol Flyers of the British Basketball League (BBL).

As a senior at NIU in 2018-19, Bradley averaged 14.4 points per game, 13th-best in the Mid-American Conference, and 5.2 rebounds per contest. Bradley shot 49.5 percent from the field during his senior campaign, 14th-best in the MAC, and was third in the MAC from the free-throw line, shooting 82.6 percent.

"It's a dream to sign my first professional contract with the Flyers," Bradley said to BristolFlyers.co.uk. "The BBL is a competitive league and I've always wanted to go to England so it's something I'm really excited for. I spoke to Coach (Andreas) Kapoulas a few times on the phone and we had a long conversation on how he thinks I can help the team this year.

"He told me he wants me to be a leader both offensively and defensively and bring that energy that's necessary to win games. I can't wait to get to meet the rest of the team and pick their minds. It's going to be my first year as a pro so I'm really excited."

In four seasons at NIU, Bradley never missed a game, playing in 132 consecutive contests to set a new school record for career games played. The Milwaukee, Wis., native finished his Huskie career with 1,464 points, ninth-most in NIU history, and shot 80.9 percent from the free-throw line, sixth best in program history.

Established in 2006, the Bristol Flyers have competed in the BBL since the 2014-15 season. The Flyers open the 2019-20 season with a preseason game against the Worcester Wolves on September 16 and start play in the BBL Cup on September 20 against the Surrey Scorchers.
