Yes. I can’t believe we lost that game. That hour long drive home felt much longer than that. We can’t lose to these guys again, not a good look for the program if we do.

Was the offensive coordinator the dude that’s at Appalachia State

Any chance Mitch G is back? Seems unlikely but we can hope. I think we win this one, if only because we’ll be so happy to be warm.

I’m not sure if getting MG back would be a good thing.

Getting the MAC leader in pass efficiency back and having depth at QB
would be good, believe me.
Was not aware he was the pass leader in efficiency

he only played the warm weather games. he's a good runner. peters zips the ball out there better but he is still learning to process what he sees and can't run. I get the feeling this game will motivate a team that has had some hard times and we will play well.

I was at the 2010 game vs FIU in Detroit and we were undoubtedly screwed by the refs. I can remember the 5 minute booing from the UT fans. Revenge is sweet except for U of M ?

Nice to hear the Rockets drew a warm destination. As far as the opponent, if they are on par with a good MAC team we probably can't win. If they are on par with a bad MAC team we should win.

Rockets were up at the half. Started stealing the the signals in the 2nd half. The TV play by play guy(Bob Davies?) even said FIU was stealing the signals. Mostly likely was Satterfield.I'm sure Beckman didn't change the system after Satterfield left. Tressel said OSU was able to steal the signals in their game with UT.

You are correct Babes Boy. This is the same team we played where the refs screwed us on that 1st down play. Probably the same refs that screwed us at Syracuse.

Scott Satterfield, now HC at Appalacian State, knew our play call signals when he was at FIU from his time at Toledo. Guess we weren't smart enough to change them...See below:

1998 Appalachian State (WR)
1999–2002 Appalachian State (RB)
2003–2008 Appalachian State (QB)
2009 Toledo (QB)
2010–2011 FIU (OC)
2012 Appalachian State (OC)
2013–present Appalachian State

I'm still salty over that one. I remember it as a terrible spot on a 4th and long that extended the drive for a game winning TD.

Yep, same here...03-banghead
That was a bowl loss pretty much dictated by the stripes...

It should be noted that at the end of those warm weather games he was also leading the league, IIRC.

Truthfully I do not like our offense a whole lot. We can score some points but if you ask me we are still predictable. Change it up some for this game and we will win.

There is no way CC allows Rockets to come out flat. UT will roll I believe with Peters slinging the ball all over the place. BTW CC must see something in Eli with all the 2nd half time he received vs CMU. Guy can throw it no doubt.

Def is playing better technique in my opinion, Dline play at least. Could be the opponent has been bottom rung.

Noticed 2 running back rotation for most the game... by design or Seymore dinged? I liked it though. How is it we have a stable of backs and receivers and MSU has 1 back and 1 receiver? Oh and not any QB's..you can see why CMU lost by 10 to MSU earlier.

Seniors will be practicing I assume for the bowl.

Perfect Bowl game for UT in my mind....... UT 54 FUiUiA 33 Temp 79 [/b]

If anyone would like to get a look at FIU, the replay of their 11/17 game against Charlotte is on ESPN3. They lost their last game to Marshall dropping them to 6-2 (8-4 overall), tied with Marshall for 2nd place in their division.

Since Koback was installed as the prime running back, the offense has performed a lot better. This is a guy who could be playing in the SEC. If he had not been injured his senior year in High School, he would have competed with Michael Warren for Mr. Football in Ohio. Koback is not yet a great pass catcher but his running ability is comparable to Kareem.

Game winning field goal. That was frustrating, but big win for them. Toledo got screwed on that call, and T.Y. Hilton is still doing well in the NFL with the Colts.

I suspect his recall of that drove his statement. Candle can’t afford to lay a second bowl game egg.
