Dukes should be itching to get out on the court and remove the bad taste of their last game at Hampton this past Tuesday night.

Will be interesting to see if Koshuta is back (or what's going on there if anybody has any news).

Winthrop is 1-4 and includes a home loss to non-D1, Newberry. Their lone win was over North Carolina Central. They opened with 2 road losses to tough opponents (at Wisconsin and Georgia). Their last game was Tuesday night - a loss at Wofford by 17.

Dukes should take care of business in a big way this afternoon. Go Dukes!

Wife, younger daughter and I stayed in Woodstock last night after the football game. Will be heading out shortly for the Convo and will be ROOTIN!!

We'll be there in our usual spot across from the team bench. Winthrop does not sound like a terribly difficult opponent, but the ladies can't take them as that. No letdowns! They should be good and mad after the last game. I looked at the extended stats and it appears to me that the refs had extremely active whistles...lots of fouls called, too many IMNSHO. I thought the ref crew at our last home game was very good, BTW.

As to Kelly, I wonder if Coach O sent her home for the holidays to think things over. A "one game suspension" shouldn't be lasting this long. She's been MIA for what now, 3 games?

Up 33-20 w/ 2 minutes left. I think we've missed 7 three pointers in a row and gotten every long rebound

Everything I’ve seen still just says out for violating team rules.

Noticed Lexie was in sweats yesterday and did not play. Anyone know what is up there? Injury?

They mentioned she got banged up during the Hampton game, but didn't go into detail.

My impression is that Lexie is day-to-day and they probably thought Winthrop was not worth getting her suited up for. I concur, although Winthrop is not as bad as their record looks. Their defense, in particular, is pretty good, and some of their shots are excellent. Their shot choices OTOH... Remember that their coach is only in her second year. She's a good 'un, as we would say in Tennessee. Check her pedigree.

Nice to see the freshmen getting some work. I think Green will be a good PG in the future but she will need some backup next year and I hope Coach is actively recruiting another PG. Someone said she reminded them of Mickens and I agree. She's certainly fearless! Speaking of fearless, I like what little I've seen of Carodine. And Tori is getting better and better the more she plays. She's a gazelle out there!

And what can I say about Jackie Benitez? I LOVE that girl! She's everywhere! Siena sure lost a good one when they let her go. Those Pennsylvania girls are doing us nothing but good....Kamiah, Devon, Jackie...and another one coming next year in Kiki Jefferson.
