Absurd. I hope you were being facetious. We're at home facing a team whose wins this season have come against juggernauts Delaware State, Lamar, UT-Rio Grande Valley and Prairie View A&M (Combined record: 5-17); and all of those wins have been at home. Their game against us will be only their 2nd road game of the season; they lost @ Georgia Tech 79-54 on November 16.

Not that our resume is much better, but saying we'll get our "butts handed to us" is ridiculous. They're # 273 in Ken Pomeroy's rankings while we're # 201.

solohawks was correct to say we should win this one.

RE: ECU - 11/27 - CAA.TV
Looks like the player to watch for from ECU will be a freshman forward, Jayden Gardner. He's leading the team in scoring (16.6 ppg), FG % (.600), rebounding (7.4 rpg), and is the team's best free throw shooter (.786). He's gotten to the line 56 times, far more than the next best on the team (32).

Redshirt junior forward Seth Leday is also having a solid season, with 12.4 ppg, 7.3 rpg, and 7 blocks. Cacok, O'Connell and Cylla will be busy defending the post in this one.

Recently reinstated sophomore guard Shawn Williams, who had been suspended "indefinitely" on Nov 6, immediately joined the starting lineup and has averaged 37 minutes per contest. He put up 29 points in the 2 games since he's been back.

Another freshman, Tae Hardy (5.4 ppg), has started all 7 games for the Pirates, but I'm not really sure why unless he's really good defensively. He does have 11 steals, so there's that. Sophomore guard K.J. Davis (7.7 ppg, 10 blocks) and senior guard Isaac Fleming (7.7 ppg, 3.0 apg) are the two other minutes leaders.

The Pirates A/TO ratio is what jumps out as their biggest issue. Against a very weak schedule, they've dished out 99 assists compared to 129 turnovers (18.4 per game). They're also a weak perimeter shooting team, hoisting up 118 from deep but only connecting on 33 (.280). For comparison, we're shooting .361 from deep. The only thing they seem to do well at is protect the rim, with 33 blocks in 7 games. But that also might be a product of their schedule.

Yes, we should win this one.

It'll also be nice to have the students around for this game, as well as the next one against Davidson. Rarely do we get the students for the ECU game.

We just got blown out by Gardner freakin Web. Our chances on pulling off this win are slim.

You act like EZ is much better than GW, they are not. We had an off day, but ultimately took 2 of 3 and played best game of season yesterday. Could we lose? Sure. To state we have no chance, or slim chance to beat a crappy team at home simply isn't true.

Put your money where your mouth is then. I'll bet you a $50 donation to the charity of your choice that the Seahawks win this game. ECU wins, I'll give $50 to a charity of my choosing.

Could EZ hoops program be considered a "charity"?

RE: ECU - 11/27 - CAA.TV
Neither of these teams have shown anything impressive this year, so no way i'd bet a nickel on either one.

I'm looking for something simple. DEFENSE. My concern is we haven't shown the ability to defend in a half court set. I harp on playing some press because it can take the pressure off our half court defense and get us in transition on offense where we seem to thrive.

ECU is young and has struggled on offense, so the advantage should be UNCW. Cacok should have a field day...if he can stay out of foul trouble.

We absolutely showed that defensive ability in the last game. What we haven’t shown is defensive consistency from one game to the next. Hoping those dots connect tomorrow night.

ECU has been playing some really good defense. I don't see us putting up 84 points.

UNCW is a 7 point favorite in Vegas. UNCW is very young in spots so nothing is a lock.

Gardner "freakin" Webb* beat the Univertsity of Kentucky in 2007 by 18 points!...(We only lost by 9) Some kid named Takayo Siddle had 8 points coming off the bench for the Runnin' Bulldogs. UK won a national championship in 2012. So maybe we can follow suit! #OPTIMISM
