Buying from JMU. For me most important thing is sitting with JMU folks. I'm not interested in driving all of that way and sitting with Colgate. I'm probably not as analytical as some of you guys so the perfect viewpoint is
nice but not #1 on my list.

My sentiments as well. Bought my ticket through JMU. Reserved seat so probably in section 4, 5 or 6 on the visitor side. (between the 30 yard lines) All other seats on the vistor side are shown as General Admission.

Roll Call: JMU @ Colgate
(11-26-2018 07:57 AM)jmuroadwarrior Wrote:  We are doing the Binghamton spot Friday and Saturday. An hour and a half away. Allows for less driving on Friday and Sunday and a bit more driving pre and post game on Saturday. We were married in Binghamton in a Russian Orthodox church, think Deer Hunter, and her family cemetery is there etc. We may get some of that Slovak food at Sharkey's, a long standing bar/restaurant with the same decor since 1947. If you are from an urban city ethnic blue collar background, and don't look closely in the corners, you should like it. Others may fear for their lives in that kind of neighborhood and in many other spots in Binghamton. Anyway the beer and food is cheap and plentiful. Many locals have gone there for years.

Another place to consider, especially for getting food for tailgates is Pudgie's, a sub pizza wings etc shop located throughout that part of NY. They have been around forever and can be a one-stop food source.
http://www.pudgiespizza.com/ourmenu.php

One of the other local pizza chains Nirchi's features an egg cheese breakfast pizza.
http://www.nirchis.com/binghamton-upper-front.html

If you get a chance try some spiedie's, it's the local famous sandwich that has morphed into a huge summer celebration.

Hope this info helps some for those heading to the game. This is not an endorsement of anything. As I know tastes vary and YMMV, and in my old age I am sensitive to negative feedback. Go Dukes!

A blast from the past. I grew up on Pudgie’s pizza.

My sentiments as well.

Exactly....I am sure the vantage point will be just fine.

I mean, it's REALLY low. It's not like you can't see, but the ability to see anything develop is pretty minimal unless you go to the bigger side at the top.

OK I will take your word for it. I sat low and Richmond (front row low) and those seats were great. Can't be much lower than that. Can't be much lower than sideline seats at BFS and they are amazing seats. It is all in what you like.

True true. Although those Richmond front row seats are actually pretty high off the field level!

I was about 4 rows from the top when I took this.

Yeah, it's recently built (or renovated) behind the visitor seating.

Old football programs from back when they were called the Red Raiders. Funny stuff.

Me and two others heading up on Friday early evening and staying at the Doubletree in Binghamton. Would love to meet up with fellow Dukes pre/post-game!

Purple will be the color in that lobby bar area and the local nearby streets. You'll have some company.

Hyper is right. The coaches & press sit high up between the 40s for a reason- that's where the best view is for seeing the overall picture. Why the coaches in the press box have headsets to the coaches on the sideline. I've sat between the 40s sideline seats at stadiums before, and can't tell what's going on overall picture as well as sitting up high..

Another thing is I like the top row- I like to stand a good portion of the game and don't want to block anyone's view..I get sitting low if you're not as interested in the overall picture..Hopefully will be some other JMU fans on the Colgate high section.

Seems dumb to take a flight (probably with a connection because I’m in Richmond) then have to drive at least another hour. But I also want to save my travel for Fargo because that trip was the tits two years ago. Decisions, decisions.
Now you're thinking! Save up those pennies for a return trip to the ThunderDome! My family will welcome you and your crew to tailgate with the Magic Bus group once again.

Cheering for both the Dukes and Bison this weekend.
Best of luck!

Due to a %#@* work issue that came up today, I have had to cancel my trip.
I was going to pick up my ticket at Will Call at the stadium (it's a reserve seat in the JMU section). If anyone is interested in a FREE ticket, PM me and we can figure out a way you can get the ticket at Will Call. (I have a confirmation #)
