I have not seen them play but they obviously have a heck of a defense. We'll obviously have to be much better offensively to win this game.

One positive I see is that Colgate has not seen a Defense as good as ours yet. Going to need to force a few turnovers to give the offense as many opportunities as possible

This Colgate team is very good. Saw some of their game vs Army. Army is very good and could not shake them. I m a little nervous that we might not get running game going and may have to rely on Di Nuccis arm.

Maine laying 13 at home vs ETSU (note, spread will be much closer to a Pick 'Em if Jax State comes back to defeat ETSU)

Cal Davis hosting Northern Iowa will be a Pick 'Em

Note, by this time of season Sagarin's is usually a pretty good reference point for estimating opening point spreads. Sagarin's won't be updated with today's results until tomorrow, but it's guesstimating anyway.

I'm really curious to see what the Over/Under is going to open at for this JMU-Colgate game. It may be the first team to score 10 points wins. 2 very strong defenses. 2 offenses which are far from dominant. 2 head coaches who manage the game towards their strong defense (field position, conservative, etc.).

The game may come down to special teams. I don't know anything about Colgate's ST's, but I do know ours is pretty darn good across the board.

Yes, agreed on the close low-scoring game, especially if there is wind or rain. We really need more touchdowns instead of field goals (or nothing) when we get to the red zone or even to the 5 yard line. That will definitely need to happen if we get past Colgate. Go Dukes!!!

I believe Colgate is better than some of us think they are. Yes, they played garbage opponents and played CAA opponents at their worst. But they took care of business. Blew out the teams they were supposed to blow out and shut out 5 opponents. I don't care who you play... that's hard to do. They allowed 12 total points in 8 games.
This will be a defensive battle. It will be cold. This game will be closer than many of us think it will be. I expect our boards to be complaining about only scoring ___ points and how our offense is garbage. If we blow them out, I will be shocked.

I agree. And, I'll be a bit surprised if these teams combine for 44 pts. Just one idiot's opinion of course.

Last time we played Colgate, I walked into the stadium thinking it wouldn't be close. I guess I was unfortunately correct as it turned out. Colgate has had an extra week to prepare for us. They are playing at home and have a defense that can and probably will keep them in the game. If the Dukes are thinking about Fargo, then we'll get bit.

This game will look a lot like today’s game.

I'm not sure either team will score ten points. May not be ten total points between them. Could be a crazy 3-0 or 7-0 score, Dawgs on top, of course. Pick-sixes could loom large in this one. We dropped two that were right in our players' hands today. Frustrating as hell!
