To be clear, I wasn't complaining. I was just asking what Ever would do to fix that. My fix would be to have those be two separate tickets, instead of one being a perk. You can buy VIP passes and watch games there or you can buy seats at half court.

Not much more you can do about that. If you are paying/donating enough for VIP passes, then you should be able to be wherever you want, but yeah, separate tickets for those who want to see the game at halfcourt and those who want to rub elbows and drink wine might be good solution.

I do think the BBR should be cleared out immediately following the national anthem and at maybe 3:00 before the end of halftime.

Not sure if it violates NCAA rules (or if there is a reason they can sell it in the VIP room, BBR, and club level but not in general areas), but selling beer/wine at the concessions stands may help as well. Not sure you could do it at the BBR prices, but at least you won't have a bunch of people trying to pound as many as they can in 15 minutes.

Yep, you're right. When I asked my friend if he wanted my tickets for free (so they would get used) I would have felt weird asking after the fact for $3, as little as it is.

Glad to see. They should release also all the unscanned seats to the general public at 7:30. I'm sick of seeing empty seats and fake attendance numbers at our games. I would like to see like a ring of honor or some less stupid name, where they ring the first X number of rows around the stadium with people who have the best attendance records. Give it a stupid name, make it a point of pride, and make folks want to be a part of it.

Probably not considering our games don't sell out anymore, but there have been quite a few seasons where we had games that I think people, especially students, might take advantage. There were several seasons where situations like today, where student tickets sold out before the game (sometimes weeks) were the norm. If I am a student and want to go to a sold out game, I might hang out up front and hope someone has extras to sell or give away, and if not, hang around until unused tickets are released, especially if they are likely good seats. Whether or not that would have a significant impact on the root problem (empty seats)... your guess is as good as mine.

Correct. This came straight from the top admins of the University, not athletics. However, there has been some turnover in some of those positions, so there is definitely possibilities for change in the future.

I think a big key to the game tonight will be the play of Green and BJ in the open court. We have to take advantage of their ball pressure by making them pay. Green is our best option to score in the open court along with Caver but Caver will be handling the ball so we need our wings to step up and finish in the lane. This should be a good opportunity for Green to break out. I expect him to get some opportunities with open shots and drives. Another option might be for Kithcart to handle the ball and allow Caver some of those open court opportunities.

Just FYI, at both VCU and UR you can sit at your seat now an enjoy a beer. And before someone says something about crowd control, I've not seen anything at any of our games that would indicate any problem so far. Seen a few drinking (I don't drink at home games) but have not seen any problems. The prices are the same inside the donor room at VCU as the seating area. I realize the prices in the BBR are lower, having enjoyed the cheap beer there before. I really enjoyed it when it was free. But that guy from VCU had to go down there and put an end to that. Agree here. BJ has had an issue at times turning the ball over when putting it on the floor. There are many times where his dribble has gone off feet, knees, or just lose control over the last couple of seasons. We need that to be solid tonight.

One of many things to watch tonight is will VCU try to press/trap or will they apply token pressure to reduce the shot clock and bet on our poor shooting. If they trap/press it would likely open up easy scoring for us. Should be an interesting game. There are so many uncertainties in this matchup.

They cannot shoot for ****. They rely on offensive rebounds and turnovers. Dare I say we try for some zone?

The way they would beat us is with turnovers and offensive rebounds. I think we can D up on them pretty well if they just make VCU earn their shots (limit FTs and points off turnovers).

They sound like us

We can't shoot from 2 (41%); we do pretty good from 3 (34%). They shoot 52% from 2 and 29% from 3.

The reason...I know you want to ask....

They have 36% of their shots at the rim, where they are shooting 64%. They are hitting 30% of their 2 point jumpers.

We only have 29% of our shots at the rim with a 59% field goal percentage and only 23% on 2 point jumpers.

I have been beating on the long 2 point jumper drum for years. It's still too high, but at least the number of 2 point jumpers we have taken is decreasing and the number of 3 points attempts is increasing.

We ran two baseline OOB plays (one out of a timeout) against UNI where the result was a baseline mid-range jump shot. Makes me want to pull my hair out thinking about it.
