Hopefully, Caver plays like the Glove/Payton and shuts Evans down. And BJ does the same to Jenkins. We’re due to kick their A.

It’ll also be interesting to see the in game coaching adjustments both teams make.

This will hands down be the most talented team Rhoades has ever coached in his entire career while I’m not sure it’s in the top 3 of teams Jones has had at odu.

Last year’s team and Freeman’s teams were definitely more talented and possibly the year before last as well (debatable).

Will be interesting to watch.

If Dickens continues to step up and we can hit at least 70% of our FTs, we'll be okay.

RE: FECES U Game Discussion
I think everyone on this board truly feels the pain when we lose, which is amplified when it’s to a rival such as feces. And then sometimes we vent at each other after the loss and create a mosh pit of sorts.

I truly hope we get the next three wins and this board turns into a temporary love fest (see post VT win) - because if we lose the next three, this board is going to turn into a war zone.

True. But these three in particular. There is no excuse for losing to VCU and W&M every year, and we have them at home.

And losing to JMU would be the end of sanity as we know it.

Agreed - a loss to any of these pricks is excruciating. My prediction re: odds - feces 50/50, jmu 80/20, bm 60/40. Not great odds for a three game sweep IMO. But if we only win one of the three - please let it be feces.

I absolutely 100% guarantee we do not win all 3.

We aren’t a good enough team and Jeff jones definitely isn’t a good enough basketball coach.

You know times have changed when in the past we used to talk about "going to kick their ass" prior to a VCU game and now its I hope we win?? We the fans used to have a "swagger" about us but JJ has taken that away. Now we don't get excited about games and CUSA has taken away any rivalry we had. Not like it used to be, those were fun days!

RE: FECES U Game Discussion
The last time we beat VCU it was 2014 and Trey Freeman had an off night (3-12 FG, 1-5 3PT) and Aaron Bacote stepped up by dropping 31 points (8-8 FG, 4-4 3PT, 11-13 FT). Bless Bacote.

Oh yeah, and VCU was ranked #14 at the time and we got to do the "OVERRATED" cheer to all the visiting fans. That was nice.

Disagree. Blaine stripped the swagger from us. We just haven’t gotten it back yet.

Theres some truth to that. But that swagger was back in the Freeman years. Then it went away again. Thats because of JJ not being able to win the big games and/or make it to relevant post season. I expect to win the games we are favored in, and expect to lose the ones we aren't. Back in the day I looked forward to the big, meaningful games because I always believed we had a chance for an upset and would certainly compete.

At this point in the season, I have no faith we'll beat VCU or W&M. Tribe still got shooters and the big kid Knight is very good. VCU, well it's VCU. Even Mike Rhoades will find a way to stick it to us.

Well, excuse me but I'm really looking forward to this game. This is as big as it gets for ODU. Unlike most of you, I look at it as two evenly matched teams going at it and I think we have a great chance to win.

So, lets go Monarchs, I'll be there with my buds like always!

RE: FECES U Game Discussion
If we rise to the occasion like we often do (or used to do) against VCU, we can win. Unfortunately, they also usually rise to the occasion against us. Maybe the home crowd can get us over the hump. If we play well and hit shots at an acceptable rate, it should be a close game. If not and we display our patented 5 minute scoring droughts, they'll run us off the court with Big Blue's tail between his legs.
