Would this season have gone different...
if that Justice Davila interception was called in our favor vs ECU? I mean obviously we could still have gotten bowl eligibility with this one, but we would have had a ton of momentum going into major conference play.
Just a thought..

Such a shame we got robbed of that. Still would have needsd to beat Rice (though would have had more motivation.

We got hit by some bad luck, but we didn’t make enough of our own good luck

I'm not sure this team had its head into it enough to benefit from momentum.

We need to play in a way that the bad breaks don't matter...

Losing by 40 to Liberty and scoring 0 in the 4th quarter to Rice were the perfect bookends on this miserable underachievment of a season.
One bad referee call cannot erase all of that.

I have a simple little question to ask that's pertains to both football and basketball. Are the players on both teams good enough to play at this level and being held back by poor coaching OR are the coaches good enough to coach at this level but unable to recruit the quality of players needed? Will be interesting to see your opinions.

Agreed.
We were lucky to be in that game at all.
ECU otherwise beat us soundly on the field. We had 271 total yards to their 492
Any season momentum change should have come from the VT game.
However, against one of the most marginal ECU teams is recent memory we ran for 21 yards total that was not offset by passing. In other words, we were back to the same ol' same ol' pass only with no run and no defense.
We could have regained some momentum after the WKU win as well, but we didn't.
It was not about losses either. It was how we lost. Down the stretch, this team was blown out very ordinary FAU, Marshall, and MTSU teams.
