You would have to say the same for every single 6-6 P5 team who beat a G5 earlier in the season too.
Also, I'm confident that CUSA will not have to "pay the price." I'm pretty confident all 7 of our bowl eligible teams will get in just like last year when I think we had 9 teams get in.
As for the App fan saying Marshall should have to stay home if we lose that will never happen. Marshall is one of the best brands in CUSA and G5. Just like App State is the best brand in the Sun Belt. No way you guys ever stay home if you are bowl eligible either. ESPN will find App a bowl game somewhere because you are valuable. Probably the most valuable in the Sun Belt because you have an actual fan base.
Also, sorry to be the bearer of bad news but there is a great chance we lose this game. We are an OK team but not great. Overall a decent year considering we had a FR QB, lost starting RB to injury, and breaking in both an offensive and defensive coordinator in their first years. Marshall football seems to be stuck in no man's land. Our coach is good enough to keep us consistently winning 8-10 games per year but we have only gotten over the hump one time with him. Even then, we lost a game we shouldn't.
Hopefully we find a way to win and help get another G5 brother a bowl bid.
I’m half kidding, though I don’t really like that a non-CUSA school will sit at home should y’all lose. Because there are over 80 eligible teams, we will never really know which team/conference will lose out on the bowl money (again, should you all lose), but you can’t deny that Marshall and the CUSA is profiting at the expense of another G5 conference and league.
That said, the ACC home-and-home is hard to turn down, and I’m hoping we would’ve done the same if we were in your position. My hypocrisy knows no bounds.
Really? If we win (which is possible as the spread is VT -4.5) we will be 9-3. If not, 8-4. You seriously think an 8-4 team should stay home? Wow.
No CUSA team will stay home because win or lose you have 7 Bowl teams for 7 Bowls. It's a non-issue because VT would most likely have beaten ECU had they actually played this year and already be eligible.
No no, I get that. I was trying to wrap my mind around his line of thinking (keeping an 8-4/9-3 team home and sending 6-5 and 6-6 teams ahead of us.
Go to New Orleans. Otherwise, the C-USA will likely send a **** team like Southern Miss, who App was supposed to play this season anyway.

My guess is that we will be somewhere in Florida and you will get Middle Tennessee or UAB
