Most disappointing loss in a long time. No reason we should lose to that team. Ever.

This performance is worse than how we played against N. Florida. A makeshift roster that was still being put together in August against our veteran laden team....... unbelievable!! Should remind all of us how important it is to have a coach with a strategy that can make adjustments. Sad!

Could be any of many things. The only way we'll know is when he gets out of his funk. Injuries heal. Sometimes other issues take longer.

It's like Murphy has EMU hostage right now. He knows they can't fire him.

Maybe we can get Boeheim to take him back as an assistant.

The big story, I think, and folks here missed, don't care, etc. etc. as they repeat their typical refrains.

Murphy told Chad after the game that Minnie has a hand injury.

How bad? IDK. How much a factor? IDK.

With a Minnie who played like he did today, we aren't a good team.

If a hand injury is big enough to impact his shooting he shouldn’t be playing.

Steve we played a textbook 2-3 last February
Our 2-3 zone right now allows uncontested 3s and uncontested passes to the middle and top of the key
In other Word a Swiss cheese 2-3 with lots of holes
We need more length at the top of the zone
Move Thompson to the middle and put a quicker player than Toure on the Bottom 3

Yep. I liked what I saw from Groce today. Start him while Minnie recovers. The MAC schedule is what is important anyway.

And 79 is right about the zone. I’d start Jackson-McAdoo-Silver-Groce-Thompson next game, to try to add some quickness and shooting to the lineup. Murphy will probably stick with the same lineup that has, so far, proven to not be good enough.

Good question '79. After having watched him in warmups and his brief performance in one game, I have been rather nonplussed. He is so, so skinny and acts like he is out of place.

My guess is he isn’t picking up the zone well in practice, or else Murphy would be giving him a shot with meaningful minutes. Just speculation, but we know the key to Murphy’s heart is playing hard and smart on the defensive end.

I liked enough of what I saw from Silver today. He’s got nice form on his shot. He’ll probably be playing more in the future.

Watching UDM tonight playing Wisconsin Green Bay. UDM plays the 2-3 zone and actually does it better than us. Obviously they give up a lot of uncontested threes and offensive rebounds as the zone is prone to do but they defend the interior pass much better. Murphy could take a lesson here and it would also be nice if he had a son playing for him like Mike Davis does. LOL. The kid is incredible.
