Guy deserved to be fired. His "team" is 1-11 and showed that he had no control over them. Bunch of thugs that is an embarrassment to the league and to CMU. This is the first post I have read - but I would imagine there are other threads about the fights and yapping that was going on all game. Don't know the AD situation there, but if this is the same AD that hired Enos and then Bonamego, he probably needs to go as well. Long drop from the days of Kelly and Jones to where they are now.

He'd definitely dig into Muskegon recruiting. They had a graphic up during the game, CMU has a higher percentage of Michigan recruits than any other DI. I imagine he could name his number and grab a few from the big 2.

Bonamego has also been through a tough cancer battle. He seems to have regained some health but -as many of us unfortunately know- cancer battles can take a lot out of people. Coaching at a high level is an exhausting all encompassing lifestyle and Bonamego was a bit of a stretch from the get go as a D1 coach, so when you add battling for your life to the mix there is a high probability that he wouldn't hold it all together. You could tell watching him on the sidelines that he was over it in a sense. That team was neither locked in, proud, or ready. And are their injuries that bad or is there another reason so many unprepared young kids were on the field?

Didn't know that. Now I look at CMU and wonder why there wasn't some compassion at letting him resign vs. being fire. Might be they offered it and he refused to go - just speculating. I think it was the right decision for him to leave the post, but I guess knowing a little more about the background of what was going on would likely have elicited a different response from me. His team acted pathetically. Can't deny that.
