Nice to see them win relatively easily without Cumberland having a good game.

He exploded in pretty fast. Nice pick up to get him.

Fredericks showed promise of being a viable second scoring threat. Maybe he will, maybe he wont.

But it IS possible. Our fate was not sealed after the first half of the O$U game.

I’ve seen others mention this but our best five/starters IMO should be Broome, Jarron, Williams, Fredericks and Scott. As has been mentioned this team is terrible offensively with Jennifer running the point. Can’t create anything for anyone.

He has to play Fredericks. He's going to give up points early but they need him for later in the year. This team does not have the luxury of ignoring any player who can score the ball. Curious to see how long he plays tonight.

Frederick's and Johnson need playing time. They clearly bring more to the table than Jennifer. Plus having Jennifer, Broome, and Cumberland in st the same time is bad defensively.

Jennifer should be brought in a sub for breathers and foul trouble. However Mick is too stubborn and will never play his best players as he is too caught up in trying to prove his point or something.

In his post game a few weeks ago Mick said something to the effect of Jenifer being the only guy in the locker room that cares more about being a leader and playing hard on defense than how many points he scores in a given game.

Jennifer has mostly played very well so far. Needs to do it against the upcoming schedule.

LOL
That’s exactly what players do that can’t score.
If they want to play they have to have a good attitude.
They find their niche which is taking charges or being a leader or vocal on D, trying for wins. Which is great. As a back up.

I am convinced Mick could have brought in Tre Jones and he would start JJ over him out of his stubborn principles. This is why Mick cant recruit.

Lol. That’s because he can’t score or create for others.

I mean, you're not wrong, but that isn't always a bad thing either. The game is more than just buckets. Look at why Gary Clark is in the league right now.

As far as creating for others jenifer has by far the best assist rate on the team and is top 50 nationally in assist rate.

Undoubtedly. They need he and Williams to be factors on offense.

he's the kind of player that would be applauded at north carolina. he's kinda pointless here. we need more than a luxury veteran backup point guard

which is the complete opposite of what i said in the preseason

He's also a dinosaur. Pass first PG with no offensive game was 90s basketball. Now teams are putting the ball in the hands of their best playmakers.

RE: UC vs George Mason Game Thread
Point guard thoughts:
Johnson looked lost on defense last night. Several times. others were pointing out where he needed to be. As appealing as his offense might be, he needs to get this fixed.

Jenifer is not the type of pint guard to "win" miny games for you, but he won't make the mistakes to lose them either.

Broome is best off the ball, merely filling in at point from time to time.

It would be fun to imagine other options, but right now we don't have them.
