With the improvement this year,and the way this coaching staff has recruited already. How much does this season help recruiting going forward.

As long as the staff remains intact, I think it will help significantly...especially considering that I could see us getting a pre season look for Top 25 given all that we return.

The 10 win season will help. However, I believe is is coaches going out, building relationships, and just working their cans off that will get us the most in recruits. (With extra emphasis on relationship building.)

It may help a lot if the coaching staff stays past next week.

Coming off two 4 win seasons they've been selling a vision, not a tangible product. Now they've got something real to sell kids on so that can do nothing but help

I just hope we can hang onto coaches Freeman, Stripling, and Crook. They seem the most likely targets at this point for poaching IMO.

The staff has done a hell of a job recruiting with no "record" at UC in essence.

Broughton is applying for another year of eligibility, which would be tremendous.

He is? I would think he is gone if he is expected to be drafted at a decent slot. He and Copeland should be on NFL rosters next year. We do have James and Robinson back in the Oline and there looks to be a lot of young depth on the roster. 6' 9" 300 lb Metz from Germany is interesting. He looks to be getting minutes on the line special teams.

OG Minor lost the entire year to injury. He may apply for a 5th year. I have heard Furguson has a shot at another year of elegability. We may have less to replace than we think.

By doing so you can appeal to those 2nd tier guys that didn't get recruited by the Alabama's and O$U's of the world as a means to getting to better bowls and exposure.

We're battling the IU's, UK's and Louisvilles of the world for guys. Who has the better chance of getting to a NY6 bowl game, UC or UK?

We were two wins away from the fiesta bowl this year. UK doesn't have a prayer.

From where our program has been during the previous three seasons, you want to base your recruiting on having an upward trajectory. At the peak of that trajectory, your recruiting shifts to sustained success. We're not at the latter point yet but all indications are we can expect consistent winning football at a good clip with CLF. If we finished this season at 6-6 or 7-5 as most of us predicted before the season began, this program would still be able to recruit that we're on an upward trajectory. The fact that the Cats finished with 10 wins is absolute icing on the cake. I think most fans and alumni are ecstatic at the results this year, and in particular, considering the fact that we were one OT loss away from being 11-1. I would also argue that we suffered no bad losses with both being on the road to quality conference teams. I know speaking only for myself, I am proud of my football Cats once again and really feel we've turned a corner. Life is good and I can hold my head up high again.

Back to the OP, 10 wins for our program is top notch and you can sell it to recruits in a number of tangible ways:

Cats were one of 33 teams with four or fewer wins last season. Of those teams, we are the only one that reached double-digits in wins.

Cats won 10 games in 1951 (10-1), 2007 (10-3), 2008 (11-3), 2009 (12-1), 2011 (10-3) and 2012 (10-3). So, 2018 is only the 7th time in program history.

We've won at least 10 games 6 times since 2007 or 6 out of the last 12 seasons. We've also won at least 9 games 8 times during that same span.

Finally, if we can win our Bowl game that would really put us in select program history with 11 wins. This is probably wishful thinking but I'm hoping our 10-2 record and blow out of ECU puts us in a better bowl matchup. Winning our bowl game against whatever opponent would be the cherry on top of the icing of this wonderful season.

We actually do have multiple guys with offers from them and LSU, Auburn, Oklahoma, etc., but yes winning some recruiting battles vs. the others is important.

Whoops, was thinking of someone else... my bad.

I think it's going to be hard to discern how much this season plays out in recruiting versus CLF & Co just being good-to-great recruiters on their own. It's going to help, however it seems as tho it'll just be more like a 'cherry on top' situation.

The c/o 2019 is all but wrapped up, so it could be until the 2020 cycle wraps up before we can really tell.
