It definitely helps long term. They seem to be doing really well early on with the ‘20 class. They’ve had a lot of big time prospects on campus consistently. And the commit they have is a really good one. Top 25 prospect in Ohio with several P5 offers.

No he isn't...

Whoops, was thinking of someone else... my bad.

So just as I get over the B12 realignment talk "joke", you hit me with the Broughton may be returning hoax. You're killin' me here tuba! Who were you thinking of, btw?

I think it was Minor that I heard was coming back.

OK, I would think he's got a decent shot. I also wouldn't be surprised if we considered another grad transfer or two if we've got the room, especially along the OL or DL. I could see us being a desirable landing spot for someone looking for both a chance to play and to win.

This staff recruited really well off of nothing, so it’s hard to say. Logic would say success matters, of course.

Our last 10 years of recruiting per 24/7:
2019: 62
2018: 47
2017: 63
2016: 74
2015: 68
2014: 65
2013: 60
2012: 51
2011: 47
2010: 56

A downturn during the Tubs years, but overall fairly consistent.

I think the one thing which we did not have until this year(and i go back over 30 years) is a real identity on defense. Fickell/Freeman were obviously defensive back round guys coming in, but until you start to put up a face on the field it's a little hollow. This year kind of substantiates that they can get it done, and they are using (often) lineups with smaller/faster guys in the back 7. I do think for the first time in a long, long time if you're a D recruit there is a preference to want to be in their system. Playing very fast and physical on the D side.

I expect us to be ranked pre-season next year. It has been stated often how young we are and we return Ridder and Warrnen who the media knows a lot about. Usually a couple G5 teams get some bones thrown their way in the pre-season and I expect us to get one next season.

I thought we lose the majority of our lines? Are they not all seniors and grad transfers?

The talent leaving is substantial. Especially as noted the O and D lines - with emphasis on the D line.

College teams have to reload every year and with Fickell's third year on the horizon, I'm confident he will be prepared!
