Blocking, and east to west runs.
Also aggression was lacking on runs, Stanley just stood out more.
Gotcha. Don't agree but we're all entitled to our opinion.
I do remember at least one run where he had the chance to cut it up but stayed East-West too long. But I don't think he was horrible.
I am a big fan of Stanley. Think he has a bright future. Add Larry Wooden to the mix next season and I love the running back group.
I agree.
Still wondering what we are saving noble for?
Good question on Noble. Thought they'd find him a role with Street out. He could help.

I produced NCAA stats for 11 games that teams don't sustain running game and you come back with a RFO Cam Newton QB that had some runs on TAMU.
he had 16 carries for 88yds when they played. he was one player that had success from QB position not RB position.
hahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha. you lose.

aTm having the #2 rushing defense might have had something to do with Spencer's production. No matter the player or the game plan, the other team gets a say in things.

RE: What I learned watching the A$M game
I thought Spencer gained more yards than than expected against an SEC defense leading their little conference in run defense. Did he miss some blocks in the passing game? Yes. Did he run toward the sideline a few too many times instead of toward the end zone? Perhaps. Would i like to have seen more plays involving our faster backs? Definitely. Did Spencer play poorly? Not that I could see, particularly considering the opponent.

I agree with all that the OP said. If we didn’t play a historically bad special teams game, we would’ve have been very competitive against A&M and would’ve had a solid chance to win. I’m still flabbergasted a week later at some of the idiotic mistakes we made on special teams.

All we have to do to feel really good about our football program is to watch our basketball program. Speaking of flabbergasted.

RE: What I learned watching the A$M game
This basketball team is lost. They have no clear identity or philosphy, particularly when they possess the ball, and they seem to have some glaring gaps in talent/skill/experience. They do not know who they are, or how they are going to score. No identity plus little experience plus marginal talent looks like the chaotic offense of the past two games. On the positive side i liked their defensive energy against FSU. They were just outmanned in that game. Its still early but we are looking like a team with only one player who is talented enough to start for most of the better teams we will play this year. And when he struggles...no chance.

Just for perspective, I'm watching the Ohio State vs Mich game and saw the Ohio player misplay a kickoff resulting in an easy Mich TD. Even a P5 player can botch up catching a kickoff on his goal line.
