This is a serious problem with MAC football programs. Win every game and we love you, slip up and we hate you. Did you happen to see the story of the NIU player who apologized to his own fans after engaging with said fans? The NIU fans were berating their own team. At the Toledo game I stared long and hard at a WMU fan who was heckling the WMU punter. Sure I was frustrated with 30 yard punts, but really? Standing up in the middle of the WMU section and shouting at the punter? The nerve. Get a life people, these are kids. I would gladly trade with NIU for a shot at a MAC title. There is PARITY in the league, and if you got a shot at the MAC title, get behind the team!

That's nuts. As frustrated as I've been with this coaching staff, there is no way if Western was going to the MAC championship in Detroit that I wouldn't be there.

With long-term success comes severe entitlement.

Exactly. Since 2005 they've had 8 MACC appearances and 3 championships. NIU's time is coming where their run will dry up and they'll realize how hard it is to get back to the top of the MAC West or even a MACC championship -- Marshall is experiencing that now. Marshall only has only been in 2 C-USA Championship games since 2005 and they have only won one. Ohio U hasn't won a MACC game in 50 years. Think about that drought even though they have had solid teams under Solich.

As far as Espo is concerned, there is no need to rush to a promotion after one game. I like his enthusiasm, experience, and adjustments so far but it was against an opponent he had two years to scheme against. The bowl game against an opponent we've probably never faced before should be a telltale sign of how well he will do in the future.

Coach Lou is likely DC in 2019. Anyone posting the players dont' like him is ill informed.

I know some of us are allergic to all thing Cubit, but if he has the confidence of the head coach and players, and at least runs this defense like it’s supposed to be run, and is our best recruiter, it’s a very difficult case to find someone else to replace him unless he calls a horrible bowl game.

For me, it’s a good sign that after I start ranting about something during the game, it gets addressed. I was ranting about that opening second half drive against NIU and I got shut up the rest of the game.
