All I get are grey boxes on chrome, even with the ad-blocker etc turned off.

These webcams, like most if not all construction webcams, don't live record and broadcast in real time. They take pictures and upload them every hour or so, and it's nice because they usually don't release these to the public either. I enjoy the updates ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

That is great but the term web cam is generally referred to as being able to see live videos. Not complaining that it is not good to see pictures but some thought live streaming.
