Good for Texas State. So much potential there if they can ever get the hire right. Petrino?

To be fair---they didnt appear to even be heading in the right direction. They need to get away from these "smash mouth run the ball" coaches. You need big road-graders to run those offenses successfully and thats probably the hardest kind of player for a G5 school to land. Find an offensive guy who can spread em out, find a decent defensive coordinator to pair him with---and your gunna win some games and field a fun to watch team. It aint that complicated. A team can get competetive quick in Texas. Every high school here runs the spread---plenty of talent.
That said--if your going to try and run the ball for a living---go the Navy route. Be the only team in Texas running the old triple option.
